20160101962 | Locking Ring and Packaging for Dispensing Wound Material From a Container - A locking ring is described that permits removal of filamentary material housed in a walled container through a payout tube defining a payout tube axis and through which a first end of the filamentary material extends. The ring includes an annular flange around a ring axis and a body having a tubular wall extending from an inner edge of the annular flange to a distal edge of the ring. The tubular wall is coaxial with the ring axis, and has a plurality of teeth circumferentially spaced around the tubular wall and extend from the tubular wall radially outwardly and toward the annular flange. Each tooth resiliently deflects radially inwardly in response to interference between the tooth and an inner wall of the payout tube. The curved edges form a thread permitting the ring to advance axially into and secure with the payout tube. | 04-14-2016 |
20160083217 | Apparatus and Methods for Winding Coil - Systems and methods for winding wire are disclosed. A system includes a wire take-up unit and a wire tensioning unit. The take-up unit includes a rotating mandrel and a wire directing device, the wire directing device arranged to cause the wire to be wound in a figure-eight configuration on the rotating mandrel to form a coil having many layers of wire. The wire tensioning unit applies tension to said wire as it is wound, and applies a first amount of tension to a predetermined amount of wire constituting at least a first two layers of the coil, and a second amount of tension to the wire beyond the predetermined amount. In one embodiment, the wire tensioning unit includes digital self-relieving air regulator pneumatically coupled to and controlling a pressure in said pressurized chamber of a pre-lubricating cylinder that is coupled to the wire being wound. | 03-24-2016 |
20150360904 | Mandrel with Wire Retainer - A mandrel for the winding of wire includes a central element and segments radially extending about and respectively coupled to the central element by rotatable arms that permit the segments to assume a collapsed position and an extended position Inner surfaces of the segments define slots in which ends of the arms extend. One segment also defines a radially extending groove on an outer surface of that segment which intersects with the slot of that segment to define an opening through the segment. A resilient pad is fixed in the slot of that segment and has a face located at the opening and adjacent a surface of an arm coupling that segment to the central element. A wire is threaded into the opening and held in place when the arms are rotated to cause the segments to assume the extended position. Methods using the mandrel are disclosed. | 12-17-2015 |
20140326625 | Packaging for Wound Coil - Packaging for a wound coil is formed from a single piece of cardboard or plastic. The packaging includes a central support having a width substantially equal to the width of the coil, first and second side elements attached to and rotatable relative to the central support and defining cutouts so that the side elements may rotate to extend over a portion of the wound coil with a portion of the side elements meeting and being fastened to each other at a location substantially half-way along the width of the coil, and a handle section with first and second handle portions attached and rotatable relative the side elements. The handle section can assume a first position defines a hand-hold, and a second position substantially parallel to the central support. With the packaging, one package and coil assembly can be stacked atop another. | 11-06-2014 |
20140077469 | Trolley apparatus for unloading and supporting heavy coils of wound filament material from a winding machine to a packaging table - A trolley for moving heavy objects such as wire coils from a machine to a container at a packaging table is provided. The trolley includes spring-loaded spaced arms movably mounted for vertical height adjustment so that the arms are just below the coil when it is on the machine and rotational movement to separate the spaced arms with the spaced arms retaining the heavy object during movement of the trolley apparatus, and locking arms engaging the spaced arms during movement of the trolley apparatus to prevent separation thereof. The spring-loaded arms permit the heavy object to be manually pushed downward therebetween, thereby forcing the arms apart enabling the object to fall from the trolley into a container on a packaging table. The table includes a platform for supporting the container, a motor for raising/lowering the platform, and a mechanism for retaining the container and aiding its alignment with the coil. | 03-20-2014 |
20140075883 | TROLLEY APPARATUS FOR UNLOADING AND SUPPORTING HEAVY COILS OF WOUND FILAMENT MATERIAL FROM A WINDING MACHINE TO A PACKAGING TABLE - A trolley for moving heavy objects such as wire coils from a machine to a container at a packaging table is provided.
