20100071851Channel Roll for Oil Media Pleaters - The present invention relates generally to the manufacture of oil filters. The present invention provides a channel roll with a unique design that minimizes the channel roll surface contact with oil filter media. The design includes the formation of ridges projecting from the surface of the channel roll of such a design that is sufficient to control movement of the roll of oil media into the oil media pleating process, yet greatly reduce the surface contact with the oil media.03-25-2010
20100000930Drain Pipe Connector for Fluid Filters - The present invention is directed to a no-leak drain pipe connector for a fluid filter which helps prevent the splashing of hot fluid on individuals performing filter element and oil changes.01-07-2010
20100000922Truss Type High Pressure Center Support for Liquid Filtration - A central support for a liquid filter is described. The support has a truss element disposable centrally in the liquid filter to provide a crush-resistant structure supporting a filter media of the liquid filter, elongated straight members of the truss element, connected at joints to form a coplanar cross section, and longitudinal members of the truss element, connecting the coplanar cross section and additional coplanar cross sections in a column-like configuration. The contact surfaces of the truss element for interfacing with the filter media are adapted to spread forces on the filter media over a desired surface area.01-07-2010
20100000918Two Piece Non-Metallic Relief Valve - A fluid filter is described, which includes a housing having a first end portion defining fluid inlet and fluid outlet areas, a filter media disposed in the housing, having inlet surfaces communicating with the fluid inlet and outlet surfaces communicating with the fluid outlet, and a relief valve assembly for selectively opening a filter bypass connecting the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. The relief valve assembly has a media plug for anchoring it in the filter media, the media plug having a bypass aperture connecting to the fluid outlet, and a valve element secured to the media plug. The valve element has a valving portion cooperating with the bypass aperture in the media plug for resiliently closing the bypass aperture when an inlet fluid pressure is below a threshold pressure, and for opening the bypass aperture when the inlet fluid pressure is above the threshold pressure.01-07-2010
20090211964Corrugated-Ribbed Thread Plates for Oil/Fuel Spin-on Filters - An improved, reduced waste fluid filter has a concave housing having a first end, a second end, a fluid inlet port and a fluid outlet port. A cover plate assembly is sealably attached to a second end of the housing providing a closed area with which the inlet and outlet ports communicate. The cover plate assembly contains a retainer and a thread mounting plate. The improved thread mounting plate has thin steel with corrugations or ribs for stiffening the plate and is assembled with the retainer to form the cover plate assembly. An elongated cylindrical disposable fluid filter element is supported within the closed area of the housing and cover plate assembly. The filter element has a perforated center tube, a first end of which communicates with the fluid outlet port, the other end of the center tube being closed. The center tube has a filter media there around so that fluid flow into the closed area through the inlet port flows through the filter media and into the center tube to pass out through the outlet port.08-27-2009
20090211955Anti-Drainback Valve with Position Positive Locking for Spin-on Oil and Fuel Filters - An anti-drainback valve contains a locking mechanism for securing the valve into to a filter assembly. The locking mechanism is made up of at least two keys that extend from the valve into beyond a cap of the filter assembly in order to secure the valve within the filter assembly. When multiple keys are employed, such keys may be equally spaced around the circumference of the cap. Manufacturing costs are kept minimal as minimal material is required and a two part mold may be employed during manufacturing.08-27-2009
