20120074005EDGE RETENTION FOR FLEXIBLE COVER - A two component case may have a removable flexible component and a rigid plastic component. The flexible component may be secured to the rigid component by an interlocking feature where a tab or blade from the flexible component fits into a corresponding recess in the rigid component. The feature may extend along an edge of the flexible component and may be installed by engaging one portion of the feature and sliding a finger along the feature to press the components together. In some embodiments, the flexible component may be sized to have a slight interference fit within the corresponding feature of the rigid component. Some embodiments may also have a protruding feature over which the flexible component may also engage.03-29-2012
20120018323Flash Isolation for Device Covers - A cover for a camera device with a flash may incorporate a light absorbing isolation mechanism in areas near the flash and camera. In some cases, the isolation mechanism may be conformable to press against the camera device, or may come in partial contact or no contact with the device in the area of the flash and camera. The isolation mechanism may be formed as part of a cover, or may be a second component that may be added to a cover in various designs. The isolation mechanism may operate with devices that have a glass or other translucent outer case, as well as those devices without such an outer case.01-26-2012
20110228459ENERGY DEFLECTION CASE - A protective case for an electronic device may have flexible components in impact areas, such as corners of the case, where the case may be designed to flex. In many embodiments, a gap may exist between the protective case and the electronic device, and impact to the case may be absorbed by the protective case before damaging the electronic device. In some embodiments, the protective case may be manufactured from a two shot molding process where a hard plastic case may have overmolded thermoplastic elastomer. Some embodiments may have two case portions that may be joined to enclose a device. Other embodiments may be a single case that snaps over a device. Still other embodiments may be a permanently attached cover that attaches using fasteners or snap features.09-22-2011
20110228458MULTI-MATERIAL PROTECTIVE CASE FOR SLIDING/ARTICULATING/ROTATING HANDHELD ELECTRONIC DEVICES - A two-piece hard shell case with a silicone or other flexible component may protect devices that hinge, slide, or otherwise articulate. A front surface hard cover may snap or connect to the front of the device while a back surface hard cover may snap or connect to the back of the device. A flexible component may be held in place under one or both of the hard shell pieces. The flexible component may be held under one or both of the hard shell covers and may have button pushers, covers, or other features to allow a user to operate a protected device while still covering the device.09-22-2011
20110226545ACOUSTIC ISOLATION MECHANISM - A rigid removable case for a portable electronic device may have an acoustic isolation mechanism between the rigid removable case and an acoustic component on the electronic device. The acoustic isolation mechanism may be a compressible component that may provide an air seal between an interior surface of the removable case and an exterior surface of the electronic device. The acoustic isolation mechanism may be constructed of several different materials and several different manufacturing processes.09-22-2011
20110073608CASE - A holder for a device may have a receiver that captures an end of the device, and an engagement mechanism that may latch or secure the device into the holder. The holder may permit the device to be held in two or more different positions, and may secure the device in the holder when the holder may be oriented in several different orientations. The holder may operate in conjunction with a removable protective cover that may include features that interact with the engagement mechanism.03-31-2011
20100147737PROTECTIVE CUSHION COVER FOR AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE - Disclosed is a protective case for an electronic device. The protective case has two layers, an inner cushion cover that surrounds a portion of the electronic device and an outer rigid shell. The outer rigid shell has curved flexible arms that engage and hold the cushion cover 06-17-2010
20100008028PROTECTIVE ENCLOSURE FOR ELECTRONIC DEVICE - A protective enclosure for an electronic device such as a laptop computer or tablet computer that comprises a shell that is capable of enclosing and substantially surrounding the electronic device. The shell is substantially watertight, substantially rigid and substantially crush-resistant. The inside of the shell has a hook and loop liner with shock absorbing corner bumpers having hook and loop type bases so that the bumpers may attach at any point on the liner inside the shell to accommodate electronic devices of various sizes and to secure the device inside the enclosure in a shock absorbent suspended manner. The shell may further comprise a USB connector hub for connection to the USB port of a laptop computer or PC tablet enclosed in the protective shell.01-14-2010
