20120082065WIRELESS NETWORK AND TERMINAL, AND NETWORK CONFIGURATION METHOD AND DEVICE - A tree topology in a multi-hop wireless network is configured by having each node other than the root node select a parent node within direct communication range, thereby becoming a child node of the selected parent node. Neighboring nodes provide selection values such as routing costs and local structural information indicating the existing topology in their vicinities, including parent-child relationships. The selection of the parent node is based on the received selection values, but the local structural information is used to bias the selection in favor of neighboring nodes with at least one other child node. This selection strategy reduces the number of parent nodes in the network and enables more nodes to operate as end nodes, which can then conserve power by carrying out sleep control.04-05-2012

20110258522Encoding apparatus, decoding apparatus, and encoding and decoding system - An encoding apparatus derives a bit order based on a puncturing table that specifies different puncturing patterns for different transmission rates. The encoding apparatus then generates an error correcting code from an input information bit string and rearranges the error correcting code in the derived bit order. The error correcting code is punctured by taking a number of consecutive bits from the rearranged error correcting code. The number of bits taken varies depending on the transmission rate. The punctured error correcting code is output to a decoding apparatus, which realigns the code bits according to the transmission rate and the puncturing table, then uses the realigned error correcting code to correct errors in erroneous data. Rearrangement of the error correcting code makes the puncturing process more efficient by avoiding the need to decide whether to take or discard each bit individually.10-20-2011

20110243560Passive optical communication network system extendable with codec modules - In a passive optical communication network system, an optical signal OCDM-coded is transmitted from an OLT to a first port of a circulator, which in turn transfers the signal from its second port to one end of a first SSFBG. The first SSFBG then decodes the signal of one channel to output the decoded signal from its one end to the second port of the circulator, which in turn transmits the decoded signal from its third port to an ONU. When the ONU transmits an optical signal to the third port of the circulator, the circulator transfers the signal from its fourth port to one end of a second SSFBG, which in turn encodes the signal to output the encoded signal from its one end to the fourth port of the circulator. The circulator then transmits the encoded signal from its first port to the OLT.10-06-2011

As a result, the encoding rate is not supplemented unnecessarily and the encoding efficiency is improved.03-31-2011
20110075726Moving picture encoding apparatus and distribution system - A moving picture encoding apparatus divides a moving picture signal into key frames and non-key frames, encodes the key frames, predicts the non-key frames from the encoded key frames, determines an encoding rate for each non-key frame, encodes each non-key frame, and outputs an error-correcting code at the encoding rate as encoded data of the non-key frame. To determine the encoding rate, parameters related to the likelihood of prediction errors are calculated by at least two different methods for each non-key frame, the parameters are compared, one of the parameters is selected, and the encoding rate is calculated from the selected parameter. The selective use of differently calculated parameters enables an efficient encoding rate to be calculated for each non-key frame and reduces the transmission of encoded data that the decoder does not need or cannot decode.03-31-2011

20090193477Data providing system - A data providing system in which program deliverers store programs and deliver the stored programs to requesting subscriber terminals has a program allocation control unit that allocates new programs or qualified programs to multiple program deliverers, then selectively deletes the programs from the program deliverers. This allocation scheme assures that even newly added programs can be transmitted efficiently to the subscriber terminals.07-30-2009
20090190927OPTICAL CODE DIVISION MULTIPLEXING TRANSMISSION AND RECEPTION METHOD AND OPTICAL CODE DIVISION MULTIPLEXING TRANSCEIVER - An object of the present invention is to provide an OCDM transceiver with which the reduction amount of the intensity of the correlation waveform signal is smaller than that of a conventional device of the same type in the decoding step that comprises a time gate processing step. Hence, in the OCDM transceiver of the present invention that comprises an encoding portion and a decoding portion, the decoding portion is constituted comprising a decoder, clock extractor, and time gate. The decoder decodes an encoded optical pulse signal and separates the encoded optical pulse signal into a clock signal extraction signal and an optical pulse signal playback signal. The clock extractor extracts a clock signal from the clock signal extraction signal. Further, the time gate removes only the auto-correlation waveform component from the optical pulse signal playback signal. The auto-correlation waveform component is converted to an electrical signal by means of an optical receiver and generated as a reception signal.07-30-2009
20090190608Communication apparatus and method for controlling communication channel used - A sender communication device includes a communication unit for sending a communication signal to a receiver communication device, and a communication controller for controlling setting of communication channels used for the communication unit as well as for setting, when sending the communication signal, a sending period of the communication signal substantially not shorter than a receive confirmation period of all communication channels in the receiver communication device. A receiver communication device includes a communication unit for receiving the communication signal sent from the sender communication device while switching over plural communication channels, and a communication controller for controlling switching of the communication channels and for setting a communication signal receive-waiting opportunity, in which a first communication channel is used, substantially higher than a receive-waiting opportunity, in which a second communication channel is used. It is thus possible to avoid radiowave interference while saving electric power and lowering delay.07-30-2009
20090185503NETWORK TRAFFIC ANALYZING DEVICE, NETWORK TRAFFIC ANALYZING METHOD AND NETWORK TRAFFIC ANALYZING SYSTEM - A network traffic analyzing device accurately analyzes traffic of a communications network. The traffic analysis device includes a real time statistic information setting/managing unit for collecting information regarding communication data between a primary network and an access network from a traffic collecting device in real time. The device also includes a real time statistic information monitoring unit, an alert condition setting unit for alerting one or more conditions regarding the information collected from the traffic collecting device in real time, and an alert managing/notifying unit for generating an alert regarding traffic between the network and the access network based upon one or more alert conditions.07-23-2009
20090180393Sampling apparatus distinguishing a failure in a network even by using a single sampling and a method therefor - A network analyzer includes a sampler and a network anomaly detector. The sampler acquires communication data flowing through nodes by a data collector, estimates a topology of the nodes based on the acquired communication data by a topology estimator, stores the estimated topology of the nodes in a storage, reads out the estimated result from the storage to generate a predetermined item for each read-out topology of the nodes as a sampling rule by a rule generator, and samples the supplied communication data based on the generated sampling rule by a packet sampler. The topology of the network is thereby estimated in advance to narrow down objects to be sampled. The behavior of the communication data can thus be grasped in correlation between a target network and other networks.07-16-2009
