20120097161DRY-POWDER INHALER - An inhaler for delivering dry-powder medicament to a patient from an open blister pocket of a blister pack. The blister pack has a plurality of blister pockets spaced apart in a length direction of the pack and each containing a measured dose of the medicament. The inhaler includes a housing for enclosing used and unused portions of the blister pack together with a medicament dispensing mechanism for opening the blister pockets of the blister pack. The inhaler also includes a manifold through which air can be drawn in use of the inhaler, the manifold including an air inlet for receiving external air, at least one medicament aperture for communicating with an opened pocket of the blister pack to enable entrainment of the medicament by the air drawn through the manifold, and an air outlet for delivery of the entrained medicament to the patient.04-26-2012
20120065175METHOD OF PREPARING DRY POWDER INHALATION COMPOSITIONS - The invention provides a method of preparing a dry powder inhalation composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable particulate carrier, a first particulate inhalant medicament and a second particulate inhalant medicament. Also provided are dry powder compositions and methods of using them with a dry powder inhalation device.03-15-2012
20110196334CONTAINER FOR RESUSPENDING SEDIMENTED MEDICAMENT - A container for re-suspending sedimented medicament comprises a reservoir for containing a suspension of particles in a liquid, a dispensing portion, and a sealing portion. The sealing portion is arranged to be in fluid communication with the reservoir via an orifice. The orifice is positioned between the dispensing portion and the sealing portion, and allows a turbulent flow of the liquid from the reservoir into the sealing portion to enable re-suspension of particles that have sedimented out of the liquid in the sealing portion.08-11-2011
20100065050MEDICAMENT DISPENSING DEVICE WITH A MULTIMATERIAL DIAPHRAGM BOUNDING A PNEUMATIC FORCE CHAMBER - A metered dose inhaler for use with a pressurized aerosol container which is preferably breath-actuated. A preload is applied to the internal aerosol valve by an amount sufficient to result in a dose release, but this is prevented by the application of a pneumatic resisting force. The inhaler comprises a release device which, upon actuation, releases the resisting force and allows the preload to actuate the aerosol valve. A metered dose of medicament is then released for inhalation by the patient. The pneumatic resisting force is established by a negative pressure region defined in part by a diaphragm. The diaphragm includes a central disk of a first, relatively high stiffness material and a peripheral ring, coupled by a flexure of a second, relatively low stiffness material.03-18-2010
