20110245866METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR WOUND SEALANT APPLICATION - Devices and methods are disclosed for delivering sealing compound to a wound in animals, including humans. Such wound sealing is important after deep skin penetrating lacerations or subsequent to internal wounds. The apparatus utilize an aerosol dispensing system that both mixes and applies a multi-part sealant compound. The aerosol system includes a plurality of sealant component chambers, a source of pressurized gas, an aerosol mixing head, a pressure regulator, a pneumatic switch, and a component pumping mechanism. The aerosol system, either a reusable or a disposable device, is further provided with a system that keeps dry components from liquid components and then automatically mixes the liquid and dry components prior to application. The system provides for easy control over the application, inexpensive manufacture, and simplified preparation, thus minimizing the time needed for application and enhancing the potential outcomes of the patient.10-06-2011
20110245803SYSTEMS, DEVICES, METHODS FOR DELIVERING HYDROGEL COMPOSITIONS WITH SELF-PURGING TO PREVENT CLOGGING - A hydrogel composition is formed by conveying separate first and second liquid components subject to a selectively applied application pressure P(A) into an outlet path for mixing and discharge. A liquid flushing agent is automatically conveyed into the outlet path subject to a substantially constantly applied purge pressure P(P) when the application of P(A) is interrupted, to continuously flush residual hydrogel composition from the outlet path.10-06-2011
20110224721Universal Introducer - A device for introducing a catheter into a vessel through a puncture in a vessel and for sealing the puncture. The device includes an elongated body having a proximal end and a distal end sized to be positioned within a tissue site which includes the puncture. The elongated body includes a utility lumen sized to allow a catheter to be delivered through the utility lumen. The utility lumen is positioned within the elongated body so positioning the elongated body within the tissue site allows a catheter delivered through the utility lumen to enter the vessel. The elongated body also includes a closure lumen having an entrance port. A closure composition can be delivered through the entrance port into the closure lumen. The closure lumen also includes an exit port adjacent the distal end of the elongated body. The closure composition delivered into the closure lumen can be delivered through the exit port to the tissue site adjacent the puncture.09-15-2011
20100173843TISSUE ADHERING COMPOSITIONS - A method mixes a first component, a second component, and a buffer material. The first component includes an electrophilic polymer material comprising poly(ethylene glycol) having a functionality of at least three. The second component includes a nucleophilic material comprising a natural or synthetic protein at a concentration of about 25% or less that, when mixed with the first component within a reaction pH range, cross-links with the first component to form a non-liquid, three-dimensional barrier. The buffer material includes tris-hydroxymethylaminomethane having a pH within the reaction pH range. The method applies the mixture to adhere to a tissue region.07-08-2010
20100099852SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND COMPOSITIONS FOR PREVENTION OF TISSUE ADHESION - A blended electrophilic material with a first component having a functionality of at least three and a second component having a functionality of two is mixed with a nucleophilic material. The blended electrophilic material cross-links with the nucleophilic material to form a non-liquid, three dimensional structure which can applied, e.g., as an adhesion barrier.04-22-2010
