20120132091APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FORMING BUNDLES COMPOSED OF PRINTED PRODUCTS - An apparatus for forming bundles of printed products includes a lift element that moves vertically inside a holding area. The printed products are deposited on the lift element when the lift element is in an upper position. The lift moves the deposited printed products downward into the holding area so that the printed products are in position to subsequently be compressed into a bundle by pressing the printed products with an upward movement against a pressing element. The lift transports the compressed bundle to a lower position in the holding area where the lift element moves out of the holding area to a position in which the bundle is released to drop onto a support element. The lift element thereafter is moveable from the lower position to the upper position for the depositing of additional printed products. 20090293699DEVICE FOR FORMING A GROOVE - A device for forming a groove in a cover, the device including a circular score anvil having a first axis and being rotatable in a first direction and a circular scoring knife having a second axis positioned parallel to the first axis and arranged radially opposite the circular score anvil to define a gap between the score anvil and the scoring knife. The scoring knife is rotatable in a second direction opposite to the first direction and comprises a scoring element having an edge region that is tapered to form a ridge toward a periphery of the element. The edge region includes an intermediate space that divides the edge region into two spaced apart knife edges. A groove is formed in the cover while moving through the gap by operative cooperation of the scoring knife and score anvil.12-03-2009
20090280971DEVICE FOR COVERING A MACHINE IN A PRODUCTION LINE COMPRISING A PLURALITY OF MACHINES - An arrangement for covering a machine having a machine frame, includes a covering device adapted to be attached to the machine frame above the machine. The covering device has opposite sides corresponding to opposite sides of the machine frame. Hinges are respectively connected at the opposite sides of the covering device about which the covering device can be selectively swiveled to an open or a closed position relative to the machine. Each one of the respectively arranged hinges at opposite sides of the covering device is selectively coupled to the machine frame and has a parallel-extending swiveling axis. Respectively the non-selected hinge that does not form the swiveling axis for opening the covering device is arranged to be detachable from the machine frame.11-12-2009
20090268957DEVICE FOR MEASURING THE THICKNESS OF PRINTED PRODUCTS - An apparatus for measuring a thickness of a printed product conveyed in a conveying direction at a conveying speed. The apparatus includes a conveying device having a guide arrangement along which the printed product is conveyed at the conveying speed in the conveying direction, the guide arrangement including a measuring region that extends in the conveying direction of the guide arrangement. The apparatus further includes a measuring element operative to act on printed sheets of the printed product to measure the thickness of the printed product while the printed product is conveyed across the measuring region and through a measuring gap located between the measuring element and the guide arrangement. The measuring element is arranged to move toward the guide arrangement with a process timing and to move synchronously with the printed product at the conveying speed across the measuring region of the guide arrangement. The apparatus additionally includes an evaluation unit connected to the measuring element.10-29-2009
20090208268METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING PRINTED PRODUCTS - A method for producing at least one printed product, the method including conveying the printed product to a processing apparatus, wherein the printed product includes a detectable identification code. The method further includes supplying the printed product to at least one tool of the processing apparatus and processing the printed product with the at least one tool. The processing includes detecting data, with a reading device, from the detectable identification code on the printed product and transmitting the data to a control unit. The processing further includes controlling, by the control unit, the at least one tool to process the printed product in dependence of the transmitted data.08-20-2009
20090199732CYLINDER FOR A PRINTING UNIT OF A PRINTING MACHINE AND METHOD FOR REPLACING A SLEEVE FOR SUCH THE CYLINDER - A cylinder for a printing unit of a printing machine includes a hollow support shaft with first and second tensioning elements arranged thereon at a distance to each other. A replaceable printing sleeve is positioned on the support shaft. First and second force transfer elements respectively cooperate with the first and the second tensioning element for clamping down and releasing the printing sleeve. An operating mechanism is arranged on the inside of the hollow support shaft and is operatively connected to the two force transfer elements. The operating mechanism includes at least one energy-storage element for tightening and releasing the two tensioning elements.08-13-2009
20090162181BUNDLE GRIPPER FOR A PALLETIZING MACHINE AND METHOD FOR THE PALLETIZING OF BUNDLES - A bundle gripper for a palletizing machine for picking up respectively at least one bundle and depositing the bundle on a pallet. The bundle gripper including a frame, an adjustable end stop, and at least one gripper finger such that the gripper finger has a front end and is adjustable on the frame. The gripper finger being movable between a first position and a second position. The bundle gripper also including a hold-down clamp coupled to the frame and positioned against the end stop for clamping the bundle against the gripper finger such that a distance between the end stop and the front end of the gripper finger in the second position is changeable to adapt to different lengths of the bundles. The end stop and the gripper finger are each movable to change the distance and the hold-down clamp is correspondingly adjustable to accommodate different lengths of the bundles.06-25-2009
