20110198795METHOD FOR STITCHING PRINTED PRODUCTS WITH A STITCHING MACHINE AND A STITCHING MACHINE FOR IMPLEMENTING THE METHOD - A method and device for stitching printed products with a stitching machine, which includes a stitcher head and a bending device, which travel concomitantly with each printed product as it is conveyed in a travel direction during the stitching operation. The bending device is positioned first in a first position, which corresponds to the thickness of the printed products and is a certain distance away from the stitcher head in the direction transverse to the travel direction. Before a printed product is introduced, its thickness is determined and compared with a predetermined limit value; and, if this limit value is exceeded, the bending device is brought into a predetermined second position, which is farther away than the first position from the stitching head. After the printed product has been introduced, the bending device is moved back into the first position, and the wire stitch is driven into the printed product.08-18-2011
20110176890DEVICE FOR FORMING THE SPINE OF A CASE OF A BOOK - A device for forming the outstretched, horizontally positioned spine of the case of a book, which is extended uniformly over, and aligned with, the spine of a book block, and which possibly has an inlay such as schrenz paper. The device includes a forming tool, which can be moved toward the inside surface of the spine of the case, i.e., the surface which faces the spine of the book block, lifts the case spine up between two lateral, opposing creasing rails, and produces at least a rounded or flat web on the spine between the book covers of the case. The forming tool is mounted on a rotatable frame having an axis of rotation which is parallel to the creasing rails.07-21-2011
20110014024METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTINUOUSLY JOINING AT LEAST TWO IMBRICATED FLOWS OF FLAT PRINTED PRODUCTS - A method for continuously joining at least two imbricated flows of flat printed products which are conveyed at equal speeds and spaced from one another, the method includes initially offsetting a first imbricated flow of flat printed products relative to a second imbricated flow of flat printed products so as to form a first lateral overlapping area of both imbricated flows, continuously lifting the printed products of both imbricated flows in the first lateral overlapping area until the lateral overlapping is eliminated, and lowering or dropping the printed products of both imbricated flows in the raised lateral overlapping area, so that partially a printed product of the first imbricated or the second imbricated flow comes to rest above the first or second imbricated flows above a printed product of the respectively other imbricated flow, whereby a single imbricated flow with a second overlapping area of the printed products is formed.01-20-2011
20100050572DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING STACKS COMPOSED OF PRINTED SHEETS - A method for producing stacks of printed sheets, including supplying the printed sheets along a conveyor, stacking the printed sheets along the stack support in an upright position, supporting the first stack via a supporting device, transferring the first stack from the supporting device to a compression device having first and second compression carriages, compressing the first stack between the first and second compression carriages, strapping the first stack, releasing and moving the first compression carriage towards a second stack subsequently formed, and transferring support for the second stack from the supporting device to the first compression carriage.03-04-2010
20090274536PERFECT BINDER FOR PROCESSING BOOK BLOCKS AND PERFECT BINDING METHOD - A perfect binder for processing book blocks, including: a conveying device adapted to convey the book blocks along a closed circulating path, the conveying device including a plurality of clamping devices each adapted to convey a book block; and a plurality of processing stations arranged successively along the closed circulating path. One of the processing stations includes a spine-processing station, and another one of the processing stations includes an end sheet feed station following the spine-processing station.11-05-2009
