20110259633 | DEVICE AND METHOD FOR STRINGING OVERHEAD CABLE - An overhead tower assembly comprising an overhead tower, a threading device attached to the tower and defining an opening, a cable positioned through the opening, and a cable catcher attached to the cable. The catcher includes a body secured to the cable and sized to fit through the opening, and an arm attached to the body and movable relative to the body between a collapsed position, having a cross-section smaller than the opening, and an expanded position, having a cross-section larger than the opening. The catcher and can be used to perform a method including attaching the catcher to the cable, inserting an end of the cable through the threading device, pulling the cable through the threading device, contacting the arm with the threading device, moving the arm from the expanded position toward the collapsed position, continuing to pull the cable until the catcher has passed through the threading device, and moving the arm back to the expanded position. | 10-27-2011 |
20110220273 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR STRETCHING A LINER AND EVERTING THE LINER INTO A PIPE - An apparatus for lining a pipe, comprising a liner having a non-everted portion and an everted portion, and a stretching device. The stretching device includes at least two stretch members secured to the everted portion on substantially opposing sides, and a force mechanism to facilitate movement of the stretch members away from each other in order to stretch the evert portion of the liner. Preferably, the liner comprises an inner layer and an outer layer, and the stretch members are positioned between the inner and outer layers. In another aspect, the present invention provides a method of everting a liner into a pipe. The method includes flipping an open end of the liner inside out to create an everted portion, engaging a sidewall of the liner at two opposing locations on the everted portion, and applying a force at the two locations to stretch the everted portion of the liner. | 09-15-2011 |
20110220232 | APPARATUS FOR EVERTING A LINER INTO A PIPE AND PRESSURE CONNECTOR FOR THE SAME - An apparatus for lining a pipe, comprising a support structure, a liner secured to the support structure and having a non-everted portion and an everted portion, and a pressure connector secured to the everted portion of the liner. The pressure connector includes a connector stud positioned in an opening of the everted portion of the liner, an inner pinch plate positioned inside the liner adjacent the opening, an outer pinch plate positioned outside the liner adjacent the opening and in opposing relation to the inner pinch plate, and a compression mechanism forcing the outer pinch plate toward the inner pinch plate. Preferably, the connector stud includes splines, and the outer pinch plate includes grooves receiving the splines. The compression mechanism can include a reaction plate coupled to the connector stud and including a threaded hole engaged with a threaded member. | 09-15-2011 |
