The touch sensing panel according to the present invention includes a substrate, and a plurality of sensing electrodes arranged on the substrate and extended in one axial direction to generate a sensed signal in accordance with a contact, wherein at least one of the plurality of sensing electrodes is arranged such that the one sensing electrode is adjacent to another sensing electrode on both sides of the one axial direction. According to the present invention, provided is a touch sensing panel in which a plurality of sensing electrodes are arranged and extend in one axial direction to minimize a bezel area, and at least one of the plurality of sensing electrodes is arranged such that the one sensing electrode is adjacent to another sensing electrode at both sides of the one axial direction to accurately determine a plurality of touch inputs.06-16-2011
20110069029Method and apparatus for sensing multi-touch inputs - A method for sensing two or more touch inputs includes receiving sensing signals of the touch inputs from plural sensing electrodes, calculating a value dependent on a distance between the touch inputs based on the received sensing signals, and determining the existence of the two or more touch inputs if the calculated value is more than or equal to a threshold value. The plural sensor electrodes include a pair of sensing electrodes that correspond to same coordinates on a first axis, and the sensing signals are received from the pair of sending electrodes along the first axis.03-24-2011
20110025636CONTACT SENSING DEVICE WITH IMPROVED EDGE POSITION RECOGNITION CHARACTERISTICS - A touch sensing apparatus with improved edge touch position recognition characteristics is provided. The touch sensing apparatus includes a panel unit including a plurality of sensor electrodes arranged in a line along a first axis, a sensor unit to collect sensor data indicating a change in electrical characteristics occurring in each of the plurality of sensor electrodes, the sensor unit being connected to the plurality of sensor electrodes, and a computing unit to determine a touch position on the panel unit, to which a touch of a user is applied, based on sensor data collected from at least one sensor electrode among the plurality of sensor electrodes, wherein, among the plurality of sensor electrodes, an edge sensor electrode is located on an edge in a first axis direction, and is formed narrower in width in the first axis direction than the sensor electrodes other than the edge sensor electrode. When this configuration is employed, an invalid input region formed on an edge of an input region may be removed or reduced and thus, touch position recognition characteristics of the touch sensing apparatus may be enhanced.02-03-2011

In one aspect, the apparatus includes: an input port connected to either an electrical switch or a mechanical switch to receive a user input signal via the electrical switch or the mechanical switch; a switch selection unit configured to store an electrical input unit activating information in case the input port is connected to the electrical switch, and to store a mechanical input unit activating information in case the input port is connected to the mechanical switch; an electrical input unit coupled to receive an electrical input signal inputted via the electrical switch, in case the electrical input unit activating information is stored in the switch selection unit; and a mechanical input unit coupled to receive a mechanical input signal inputted via the mechanical switch, in case the mechanical input unit activating information is stored in the switch selection unit.12-16-2010
20100309167TOUCH SENSOR PANEL HAVING A SPLIT-ELECTRODE STRUCTURE AND A TOUCH SENSOR DEVICE PROVIDED WITH THE SAME - A touch sensor panel comprises a plurality of sensing electrodes arranged on one surface of a substrate and a conductive wire connected to one side of each of the plurality of sensing electrodes. Each sensing electrode includes at least one convex portion protruded in the opposite direction of the one side, and at least one concave portion indented towards the one side. For arrangement, the convex portion of each of the said sensing electrodes is inserted into the concave portion of at least one adjacent sensing electrode.12-09-2010
20100090979TOUCH LOCATION DETECTING PANEL HAVING A SIMPLE LAYER STRUCTURE - The present invention relates to a touch location detecting panel and, more particularly, to a touch location detecting panel having a plurality of sensing areas arranged two-dimensionally. The touch location detecting panel of the invention has on a surface at one side of a single film a plurality of sensing areas arranged two-dimensionally. Each of the sensing areas includes a plurality of partitioned areas electrically isolated from each other, and the partitioned areas are respectively connected to separate channels of a circuit for detecting a user's touch on each of the partitioned areas. Accordingly, durability and productivity of the touch location detecting panel can be improved by simplifying the panel structure.04-15-2010
20080266269PORTABLE TOUCH-TYPE KEYBOARD - Disclosed herein is a portable touch-type keyboard in which touch type electrodes are included in a printed circuit board (PCB) and keys each having a pad shape are formed on a flat plate in correspondence with the touch type electrodes so as to transmit/receive a signal to/from an external device via wired/wireless communication such that key data indicating a character or a function can be input. The portable keyboard includes a pad key touch panel including a plurality of pad type touch electrodes contained in predetermined containing spaces of a printed circuit board (PCB) and pad keys formed on an upper plane in correspondence with the touch electrodes, and a signal operation module which processes signals received from the plurality of pad keys, generates a key signal, and transmits the key input signal to an external device via wired/wireless communication. Accordingly, it is possible to provide a keyboard which is used for typewriting, has a small total size due to the decrease of the size of keypads, and includes a plurality of keys arranged therein. It is possible to provide a portable keyboard which is capable of transmitting key input data to an external device via wired/wireless communication and being folded or wound when a flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) is employed.10-30-2008
