20150368920 | FRAME MOUNTED HYDRODEMOLITION SYSTEM FOR TREATING LARGE INCLINED WALL SURFACES - A steeply inclined surface is hydrodemolished by providing a staging platform and a rig that includes a base frame defining a planar footprint within the frame. The rig is suspended from the platform by a cable such that frame is coplanar with the surface and the incline of the surface causes the rig to lean against it. Rails are provided on the surface to restrain spurious lateral movement of the rig. The rig is positioned on the surface and nozzles mounted on a trolley within a travelling carriage on the frame travel in two dimensions to hydrodemolish the surface within the footprint. The rig is moved vertically along the rails and laterally along the platform to reposition the rig to work a new section of the surface in conjunction with other rails that are also mounted on the surface. | 12-24-2015 |
20140305473 | REFRACTORY MATERIAL REMOVAL SYSTEM AND METHOD - Apparatus for removing coked refractory from the inside of a cylindrical structure used in a fluid catalytic converter. A body is received within the structure and movable along its length. A rotatable nozzle assembly delivers jets of water under high pressure to the surface of the coked refractory to disintegrate it by hydrodemolition. | 10-16-2014 |
20140261559 | PIPE MATERIAL REMOVAL APPARATUS AND METHOD - Apparatus for removing material lining the inside surface of a cylindrical structure, the apparatus comprising: a support for supporting the structure in a horizontal orientation; an elongate horizontal boom for being inserted into the structure; a nozzle assembly connected to the boom member, the nozzle assembly comprising one or more nozzles wherein each nozzle is suitably spaced from the lining to deliver a jet of fluid under pressure to the lining; a conduit in fluid communication with the nozzle assembly suitable for delivering a flow of fluid to each nozzle under sufficient pressure to cut the lining material adjacent the nozzle; and a rotation mechanism cooperating with the support to passively enable the structure to being rotated while supported by the support or to actively impart rotation to the structure while supported by the support, wherein the rotation of the structure is about a central longitudinal axis of the structure. | 09-18-2014 |
20110185867 | TOP-DOWN HYDRO-DEMOLITION SYSTEM WITH RIGID SUPPORT FRAME - The subject matter of the invention disclosed herein is a hydro-demolition device and a top-down method for deconstructing structural surfaces. The device includes a rigid support frame mounted above a work-face on the structural surface being deconstructed. The rigid frame supports a cutting nozzles that move up and down along the structural surface. The nozzles may be mounted on a carriage that is movably connected to the rigid frame. The carriage may swing about a swing axis so that the nozzles move axially toward and away from the carriage. The nozzles may be movable toward and away from the work-face. The various movements of the nozzles are effectuated by rotators and drivers. | 08-04-2011 |
20090065031 | METHOD FOR CLEANING A BOILER OF A FURNACE - A method of cleaning a waste boiler, comprising mounting a robot adjacent an interior surface of a wall of the boiler, the robot operative to emit a high pressure jet of fluid against an interior surface of the wall of the boiler. The robot is moved over the interior surface of the wall to clean the interior surface; and then moved over another wall of the boiler to cleaning that wall. These steps are repeated for each remaining uncleaned wall of said boiler. | 03-12-2009 |
