One embodiment of the invention provides an antenna comprising a substrate including a ground plane. The ground plane comprises a base portion and a spine portion extending from the base portion along a central axis of the substrate. A driven antenna element is disposed on a portion of the substrate and coupled to the spine portion to form a first antenna dipole. At least one antenna director element is disposed on a portion of the substrate and coupled to the spine portion to form a second antenna dipole.
