The plurality of pins may be offset such that it provides for the entry hubs of the multiple spools to align with one another. The adapter further includes at least one depression or indentation on the perimeter for providing access to at least a portion of the spool flange. Packaging attributes that may be transformed include packaging component design, packaging markings, packaging handling instructions, packaging component manufacturing procedures, packaging component testing procedures, and packaging assembly procedures. The welder may also include a switching module in the welding circuit path of the welder having an electrical switch and a resistive path. Times of occurrence of short intervals can be tracked and a blanking signal can be generated based on the tracked short intervals to anticipate a next short interval in a next pulse period of the pulsed welding process. As a result, when a user adjusts the encoder to its maximum full-scale setting, too much current will not be drawn by the auto-reconnect device which would cause a circuit protection component (e.g., a circuit breaker or a fuse) associated with the input power type to trip.
