20120007869Distributed physics based training system and methods - A distributed simulation system is composed of simulator stations linked over a network that each renders real-time video imagery for its user from scene data stored in its data storage. The simulation stations are each connected with a physics farm that manages the virtual objects in the shared virtual environment based on their physical attribute data using physics engines, including an engine at each simulation station. The physics engines of the physics farm are assigned virtual objects so as to reduce the effects of latency, to ensure fair fight requirements of the system, and, where the simulation is of a vehicle, to accurately model the ownship of the user at the station. A synchronizer system is also provided that allows for action of simulated entities relying on localized closed loop controls to cause the entities to meet specific goal points at specified system time points.01-12-2012

Each frame of this video is independently rendered in a single pass from the scene data using a projection matrix that is derived from a detected eyepoint and line of sight of the trainee. A HUD display with imagery superimposed on the OTW view may advantageously combined with the perspective-distorted imagery of the review system. 20090206905SELF CLOCK GENERATION - A clock signal may be generated for a receiving circuit without requiring an external oscillator. A first digital circuit may convert a first signal edge at an input into a first clock signal at an output, and a second digital circuit, in feedback connection with the first digital circuit, may generate a second signal edge at the input based on the first clock signal at the output. Then, the first circuit may convert the second signal edge at the input to a second clock signal at the output. Thus, the first circuit and the second circuit, in combination, may generate a continuous stream of signal edges at the input and clock signals at the output. The second circuit may communicate with the controller circuit that may indicate that a subsequent clock signal is needed. The controller circuit may send commands and receive status from the receiving circuit.08-20-2009

A video control system receives data identifying the viewpoint and based on the viewpoint automatically selects a subset of the plurality of cameras that is generating video relevant to the view from the viewpoint, and causes video from the subset of cameras to be transmitted to the video processing system. As the viewpoint changes, the cameras communicating with the video processor are changed to hand off to cameras generating relevant video to the new position. Playback in the immersive environment is provided by synchronization of time stamped recordings of video. Navigation of the viewpoint on constrained paths in the model or map-based navigation is also provided.11-27-2008
