The liner comprises a stocking from a substantially flexible material for surrounding the stump with a first, open end for receiving the stump there through and a second, closed end which is, on the outside, provided with coupling means for coupling to the prosthesis. The liner is, on the inside, provided with a substantially form-retaining disc for supporting the end of the stump.
