20150158095 | SHANK DRILL - A shank cutter has plural circumferential cutting edges which run in a helical manner in the region of its cutting section and of which at least one critical number are equipped in each case with a preferably essentially flattened roughing profile with chip-separating grooves with rounded bases, so that the chip-separating grooves of cutter ridges which are adjacent in the circumferential direction are axially offset relative to each other. To create a tool which provides long service life by combined advantages of a vibration-stabilized finishing cutter and a conventional roughing cutter, at least one circumferential cutting edge has an angle of twist which differs from that of another circumferential cutting edge. In addition, the chip-separating grooves of the circumferential cutting edges which are equipped with a roughing profile in each case merge into a preferably essentially flattened central section of the roughing profile by means of a predefined flank radius. | 06-11-2015 |

20090129883 | CLAMPING ELEMENT FOR TOOL HOLDERS - The invention concerns a clamping element of a coupling device for releasably but axially and rotationally fixing tool components for dry machining (MMS technology) and for wet machining. The element provides a friction-type connection between the components to be coupled. A cooling tube is arranged at the center of the coupling device. The spindle is provided with an elongated hole run through which cooling tube passes. A variable contour between the base body and the clamping segment enables an increase in distribution of forces for the support of the clamping segments. The novel geometry of the clamping segments results in novel contours in the base body with smoother transitions, hence a better force distribution, thereby reducing material breakage and a more reliable and robust clamping. By virtue of their novel geometry, the clamping segments have an increased surface enabling larger clamping screws to be used. | 05-21-2009 |
20080206001 | CUTTING TOOL - A tool for cutting machining, such as drilling, milling, or friction machining preferably includes a tool head, and a tool shaft having a clamping section for housing in a tool support. The tool head includes a plurality of tool cutting edges that are arranged circumferentially about the tool head and that consist of the material of the tool head. The tool head can be fitted to the to the tool shaft as a separate part or can be intregally formed as part of the tool shaft. The tool head consists of, in one piece, a hard material and at least one functional layer comprising cubic boron nitride or polycrystalline diamond. | 08-28-2008 |
