20120021194Method for Marking a Substrate - The present invention relates to methods for marking a substrate. In particular, the present invention relates to methods for applying visual indicia to a substantially cementitious substrate in the form of a cementitious building product. The method comprising the steps of: irradiating a surface of said substantially cementitious substrate for a sufficient time and with sufficient energy to at least partially vitrify said surface thereby marking said substrate.01-26-2012
20110311779METHOD FOR MARKING A COATED SUBSTRATE - The present invention relates to methods for marking a coated substrate. In particular, the present invention relates to methods for marking a coated substantially cementitious substrate in the form of a cementitious building product. The method comprises the steps of treating at least a portion of an uncoated cementitious substrate to form indicia; and applying a surface coating on said cementitious substrate to at least partially cover said indicia such that a marking is formed.12-22-2011
20110303123Method for Modifying Pore Size Distribution Zones in Fiber Cement Composites and Articles of Manufacture of the Same - A cementitious product and method of modifying the properties of a low or medium density FRC product by providing a predetermined pore size distribution. The pore size distribution is obtained such that in critical zones of the distribution, the pore volume is substantially equivalent to or less than the pore volume in a respective critical zone of a conventional high density FRC product. The resultant material provides improved properties over conventional medium density FRC products, in particular improved freeze/thaw durability and/or improved workability.12-15-2011
20110265416Cladding System with Expressed Joint - A cladding system based on a specially configured base sheet profiled to provide a ship lap expressed joint with an adjacent sheet, which is ideal for use with relatively low-build brushable or rollable texture coatings. The ship lap expressed joint includes within the visible portion of the joint between the outer surfaces of the base sheets, an interface line defined by an inner overlapping edge of one of the base sheets, whereby the interface line is set in from the outer surface of the base sheets.11-03-2011
20110192102System for Concealed Fastening of Building Finishing Elements - In one form of building structure, trim installations are applied around window or door frame openings and at internal or external corners of a building. The trim serves both an aesthetic purpose in adding a decorative feature to building envelopes and also adds an additional weatherproofing purpose in allowing for more complete weatherproofing of building envelope corners and openings. The present invention relates to a concealed fastening building finishing element system that enables concealed fastening of finishing elements such as trim components, fascia boards, frieze boards, belly band boards, and the like to an underlying structure and to the fixings used in these systems. The invention is particularly useful with trim elements around window and door frame openings and at building corners.08-11-2011
20110162295FIBRE CEMENT LINING BOARD AND USES THEREOF - The present invention relates in a first part to a fibre cement lining board for use as a replacement to building wrap which can be used to form a sub wall on the outer surface of a wall frame, and to building wall structures and methods of constructing buildings using these particular lining boards. The invention also relates to a new method of constructing framed dual skin walls using the lining boards, particularly brick or masonry veneer walls, and to the wall structures formed by that method.07-07-2011
20100326327ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY CEMENTITIOUS ARTICLES, FORMULATIONS, METHODS OF MAKING AND USES - Described herein is a cementitious article and a method of making using a water-based manufacturing system that incorporates a closed-loop or partially closed loop water recycling system and an alkali removal process. The system, as such is environmentally friendly, saves resources, such as water and other raw materials, and reduces waste disposal. The system further provides for a cementitious article having a low alkali content. Articles prepared by one or more processes described herein have characteristics that include a low apparent density, high strength and high freeze-thaw performance as compared with an article of the same general formulation but made from a comparative manufacturing system that does not include an alkali removal process. Articles described herein are suitable for use as building products, such as siding, the underlayment panel, board, trim, fascia, roofing, decking, and fence.12-30-2010
