20100088962DOOR SAFETY SHIELD - A door safety shield generally includes a door edge attachment portion, a bridge portion, and a door jamb attachment portion. The door edge attachment portion includes a cornering portion which serves to resist detaching forces on the shield at the door edge caused by forces applied to the shield or opening and closing of the door. The bridge portion includes a tambour panel which moves in a rolling fashion, away from the door's hinge, at least when an external force is applied to the shield. The configuration of the tambour panel serves to prevent injuries between the door and the door jamb, and also serves to resist detaching forces on the shield at the door jamb.04-15-2010
