In one aspect, the substrate is provided on a bioimplant. The resulting bioimplant allows for activity of the growth factor to continue at the region of implantation. According to the method of the invention, exogenous growth factors can be used to stimulate the repair of various tissues and organs at the site requiring repair, and be protected from inactivation, sequestration or degradation.
