Another embodiment has one or more apertures through which a hypodermic needle may deliver a local anesthetic prior to making episiotomy cuts. The instrument may have one or more grips, which may be removable, and may have a movable stop and/or guide aperture. The angle of the episiotomy cut may be adjusted with one embodiment.
