20120092884PROJECTION HEADLIGHT FOR MOTOR VEHICLES - A projection headlight for motor vehicles has a reflector device, a plurality of light sources, at least one of said light sources assigned to the reflector device. A lens device is arranged in front of the reflector device in the main radiation direction. A cover device in the area of a focal point of the lens device has a cover shaft rotatable across the main radiation direction of the rotating axis main source. The cover shaft is provided with a number of glare edges and/or glare surfaces to adjust light distributors having a number of various cut-off lines. The light sources are arranged on a common light source carrier, the carrier extending substantially perpendicular to the main radiation direction and the carrier being configured to fasten onto a flat side of a heat sink.04-19-2012
20100103694LIGHT GUIDE ARRAY - The present invention is a light guide array constructed and arranged to be deployed with a two dimensional LED array such that the LED array establishes new focal points for the light emitted from each of a plurality of LEDs, which focal points are displaced from an original focal point of each LED. The light guide array is further configurable in fabrication to selectively control properties of the light emitted from the vehicle lamp having the light guide array including, direction, angle, luminance intensity and luminance pattern. In one embodiment, the light guide array directs light in a primary direction that is non-parallel with the primary direction of the light generated by the two dimensional LED array alone.04-29-2010
20090187781Electronic Control Unit with Power Loss Compensation - In accordance with the described embodiments vehicular electronic control units and their operating methods are described which cost effectively compensate momentary external power loss by reducing the unit's power consumption while external power is lost. In an exemplary embodiment external power loss is detected by the electronic control unit's microprocessor. The microprocessor thereupon disables some components within the electronic control unit and operates with limited functionality for the duration of external power loss. The electronic control unit uses internal energy storage, e.g. a hold capacitor, to sustain its limited functionality operation. Upon recovery from the external power loss the electronic control unit resumes full operation.07-23-2009
