|20130087404||FOAM CUSHION FOR HEADPHONES - A composite foam cushion for a sound control device. The cushion includes a core formed of a polymeric foam material and a polymeric coating overlying at least a portion of the core of polymeric foam material. The polymeric coating includes an outer coating layer and an inner polymeric coating layer bonded to the core of polymeric foam material. The inner coating layer may provide the cushion with strength, while providing a high degree of flexibility and suppleness to closely conform around contours and obstructions. The outer coating layer may provide the cushion with enhanced abrasion resistance and/or chemical resistance while having an aesthetically pleasing feel and appearance.||04-11-2013|
|20110031059||FOAM COMPOSITIONS WITH ENHANCED SOUND ATTENUATION - Disclosed are foam compositions with enhanced sound attenuation characteristics for use in earpieces, for example, user-disposable foam members such as foam tips for sound control devices including sound transmission devices and earplugs in which a relationship between the size of the pores and the volume of the cells of the polymeric may be controlled.||02-10-2011|
|20090232342||EARBUD ADAPTER WITH INCREASED FLEXIBILITY REGION - An adapter configured to be detachably coupled to an earbud-type sound device or other sound device is disclosed. The adapter includes an adapter body having a top portion, a bottom portion which is configured to be detachably coupled to a sound device, and a projection extending from the top portion at a junction region between the projection and the top portion of the adapter body. The projection includes a sound conduit extending from an opening in the top portion of the adapter body. Furthermore, the junction region includes a multi-directional positioning component allowing the projection to be positioned at a plurality of angular positions relative to the top portion of the adapter body.||09-17-2009|
|20080226114||Earbud Adapter with Enhanced Frequency Response - Adapters for use with sound devices and methods for making and using the same. An adapter may include an adapter body including a wall having a first surface and a second surface, and a projection extending from the wall. The adapter is generally configured to be attachable to a sound device such as an earbud or earphone. A sleeve configured to at least in part extend into the ear canal of a user during use may be attached to the projection. The adapter may additionally include one or more unobstructed orifices extending through the wall of the adapter between the first surface and the second surface. The one or more unobstructed orifices may allow leakage of acoustical energy from the adapter, thus modifying the level of sound energy at certain frequencies transmitted to the ear canal of a user.||09-18-2008|
