20120000565Barrel Form and Manufacturing Process for Same - A process of making an adjustable diameter barrel form includes the steps of providing a sheet formed of metal and folding the sheet along a widthwise bend. Pressure is applied to the sheet along the bend within a rolling device. The sheet is rolled within the rolling device over its length gradually moving the bend from one lengthwise end to the other lengthwise end while applying the pressure. The pressure is removed to release the sheet so that the sheet can roll up in a lengthwise direction into a coil. The rolling device can include a pair of rollers, an arbor, and a mandrel on the arbor. The rolling device can include a base plate, a press plate, and a mandrel between the plates.01-05-2012
20110209721Ultrasonic Hair Dryer - A device for drying hair includes a housing having an air inlet and an air outlet spaced from the air inlet to define an airflow path through the housing. The device also includes a fan disposed within the housing along the airflow path, a hairstyling implement disposed at the air outlet, and an ultrasonic transducer configured to generate ultrasonic vibrations. The transducer is coupled to the hairstyling implement to transmit the ultrasonic vibrations to the hair.09-01-2011
20110180096Curling Iron with Rotationally Adjustable Handle - A curling iron has a heatable barrel defining a lengthwise axis of the curling iron, a handle assembly having a grip, and a rotation mechanism coupled to a proximal end of the barrel and part of the handle assembly. The rotation mechanism permits rotation of at least part of the handle assembly relative to the barrel about the lengthwise axis of the curling iron between two or more different rotational orientations.07-28-2011
20110145174Hair Color Based Method of Choosing Hair Accessories - A method of choosing hair accessories based on a hair color of a user. The method includes browsing a display device containing a first set of hair accessories and a second set of hair accessories. Each hair accessory of the first and second sets is of a different accessory type and has a first or second color, respectively. The method also includes inputting the hair color of the user to a hair accessory selection device populated with information relating to the first and second colors and to a range of hair colors. The method further includes receiving from the hair accessory selection device one or more recommended hair accessories from the first and second sets that best match the hair color of the user. The method also includes selecting one or more accessories from the display device based upon the one or more recommended hair accessories.06-16-2011
20110108053Ultrasonic Hairstyling Device - A device for styling hair includes a wand defining a handle grip surface and a first styling surface spaced from the handle grip surface and a plate defining a second styling surface, the plate being pivotally coupled to the wand to clamp the hair between the first styling surface and the second styling surface. The device further includes a heating element in thermal communication with the first styling surface or the second styling surface to transfer heat to the hair via the first styling surface or the second styling surface, respectively, and an ultrasonic transducer configured to generate ultrasonic vibrations. The ultrasonic transducer includes a horn in contact with the wand or the plate to transmit the ultrasonic vibrations to the hair via the first styling surface or the second styling surface, respectively.05-12-2011
20110108051Ultrasonic Hairstyling Device - A device for styling hair includes a handle and a barrel extending from the handle. The barrel has a styling surface spaced from the handle, and the styling surface is configured for winding the hair around the barrel. The device further includes a heating element in thermal communication with the barrel to transfer heat to the hair via the styling surface of the barrel, and an ultrasonic transducer configured to generate ultrasonic vibrations. The ultrasonic transducer is disposed within the barrel to transmit the ultrasonic vibrations to the hair via the styling surface of the barrel.05-12-2011
