The remote server generates viewable and printable electronic documents from the EHRs while omitting information that is not needed by the healthcare professional viewing the electronic documents. Electronic documents for patient appointments in a predetermined window are transferred from the remote server to client computers located in a health care facility. The electronic documents may also be transferred between the client computers to save on network bandwidth from the server computer. The server computer routinely updates the electronic documents based on new EHRs received form the EHR database.
