|CONNECTION FOR A THERMOPLASTIC PIPE, ASSEMBLY AND METHOD - A pipe coupling for forming a pipe connection includes: a wall formed as a tube and including an inner surface defining an inner diameter and an outer surface; an electrical conductor supported by the wall and extending about a circumference of the coupling; and a pair of contacts exposed on the outer surface and electrically in contact with the electrical conductor for connecting an electrical power source to the electrical conductor.||05-30-2013
|FLEXIBLE REINFORCED PIPE AND REINFORCEMENT TAPE - A flexible pipe includes: an inner liner formed as a tube and having an outer surface and an inner surface defining an inner diameter; a reinforcement layer bonded to the inner liner and including at least a first ply of reinforcing tape helically wrapped in a first helical direction about the inner liner and a second ply of reinforcing tape helically wrapped about the first ply of reinforcing tape, the second ply of reinforcing tape helically wrapped in a second helical direction opposite to the first helical direction; and an outer jacket applied over and bonded to the reinforcement layer, the outer jacket including a thermoplastic. A reinforcing tape for use in the pipe or other applications includes: a plurality of reinforcing fibers and a matrix about the plurality of reinforcing fibers to hold the reinforcing fibers in the form of a tape, the matrix including thermoplastic and an additive to increase the impact resistance of the thermoplastic||05-30-2013
|METAL CORD REINFORCED FLEXIBLE PIPE - A flexible pipe for conveying pressurized fluids that has an inner tubular layer, two reinforcing layers, an outer layer and a barrier layer. The reinforcing layers are comprised of metal cords wrapped around the inner tubular layer. The metal cords may be comprised of multiple individual wires twisted about themselves or a central guide line. The barrier layer may be positioned between the two reinforcing layers and penetrate therebetween. Additionally, a method for making a flexible pipe is provided, which includes the use of heat to facilitate the penetration of the barrier layer into each of the reinforcing layers.||10-21-2010
|HIGH TEMPERATURE FIBER REINFOCED PIPE - A high temperature flexible pipe and method of making a high temperature flexible pipe is provided. The pipe can have an inner tubular layer formed of a high temperature thermoplastic, a first reinforcing layer, a second reinforcing layer and an outer sheath. In one aspect, an insulating layer may be provided between the second reinforcing layer and the outer sheath. A method of making a flexible pipe is also provided. The first reinforcing layer is wound around the inner tubular layer and the second reinforcing layer is wound around the first reinforcing layer. An outer sheaf can be formed over the second reinforcing layer. In another aspect, an insulating layer can be formed over the second reinforcing layer before an outer jacket is formed over the insulating layer.||09-02-2010
|PIPE COUPLING AND METHOD FOR INSTALLATION - The coupling includes a mandrel and a coupling outer sleeve. In a method for installing the coupling on a pipe, the mandrel is inserted into the inner diameter of an end of pipe with an outboard end of the mandrel protruding from an end of the pipe. Then the outer sleeve is positioned over the pipe to form a length of substantially concentrically arranged, overlapping parts of the mandrel, the pipe and the sleeve. Then the sleeve is crimped over at least a portion of length, which engages the pipe between the sleeve and the mandrel. Either before or after sleeve is crimped over the pipe, the sleeve is connected to the outboard end of the mandrel.||05-13-2010
