20100053729System and Method for Despeckling an Image Illuminated by a Coherent Light Source - A method and system for reducing speckle in an image produced from a coherent source of radiation is provided. The method includes coupling a source beam received from a coherent optical source into an optical fiber. A position of at least a portion of the fiber may be modulated using a ditherer. The source beam may be refracted by a lens after it is decoupled from the optical fiber, such that the source beam is aimed at a microlens diffuser. In accordance with a particular embodiment, the source beam may be projected from the microlens diffuser onto a spatial modulator. The spatial modulator may be positioned to project the source beam via an imaging lens, to a target.03-04-2010
20090100995Integrated Weapons Pod - An integrated weapons pod includes a plurality of pod components such as a targeting system, a weapons bay, a central processing unit (“CPU”), a wireless data link, and an external shell. The external shell houses the targeting system, the weapons bay, the CPU, and the wireless data link in a single freestanding unit. The weapons bay is configured to house one or more weapons and deploy the one or more weapons at a target. The CPU is operable to control operation of the targeting system, the weapons bay, and the wireless data link. The targeting system is operable to provide to the one or more weapons location information identifying a location of the target, and the wireless data link is operable to exchange data with a remote operator.04-23-2009
20080197274TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED PHOTODETECTOR - This disclosure describes a temperature controlled photodetector. The disclosed detector can reach a temperature at which responsivity is maximized within a short time and with little wasted power. Furthermore, the photodetector prevents thermal gradients from developing across the detector so that the whole detector region has equivalent responsivity.08-21-2008
