The power transmission device comprises a generally flexible and elongated cover having a proximal attachment end, a distal attachment end and a longitudinal axis that extends between the proximal and distal attachment ends. The proximal attachment end is mountable to the control unit and the distal attachment end is mountable to the dental handpiece. A generally flexible and elongated driving cable is rotatably positioned within the cover.
