The probing device includes a physiological probe having a sensing interface, and a housing for housing the probe. The housing includes a body having a skin-side surface for lying next to the skin of the patient and a fixed or resilient protruding member fixedly or resiliently protruding from the skin-side surface. The protruding member houses the sensing interface. The device also includes attachment means for attaching the device to the skin of the patient. In the case of a resilient protruding member, the device may include a resilient mechanism for biasing the resilient protruding member against the body.
