20110130016 | External Quick Connect Modular Plug for a Wiring Device - The modular electrical wiring device includes an electrical wiring device and an external plug that is electrically coupled by one or more wires to the wiring device. The modular plug is releasably coupled to a connector in a male-female relationship. Both the modular plug and connector include internal contacts for electrically coupling one to the other. The connector is electrically coupled to and terminates one or more building wires, which are used to provide power to one or more of the wiring devices. The external plug is removably coupled to the connector to provide electrical power to the wiring device by establishing and electrical pathway from a source of electrical power, through the building wires, the connector and the modular plug to the wiring device. | 06-02-2011 |
20110130015 | External Quick Connect Modular Plug for a Wiring Device - The modular electrical wiring device includes an electrical wiring device and an external plug that is electrically coupled by one or more wires to the wiring device. The modular plug is releasably coupled to a connector in a male-female relationship. Both the modular plug and connector include internal contacts for electrically coupling one to the other. The connector is electrically coupled to and directly terminates one or more building wires, which are used to provide power to one or more of the wiring devices. The external plug is removably coupled to the connector to provide electrical power to the wiring device by establishing and electrical pathway from a source of electrical power, through the building wires, the connector and the modular plug to the wiring device. | 06-02-2011 |
20100155991 | METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A BUSHING - A bushing can include a shoulder, a ring, and a ground shield. The ring can be arranged circumferentially around a first outside diameter of the bushing, wherein the ring includes a channel. The ground shield can include a semiconductive rubber collar that forms part of an outer surface of the bushing and extends circumferentially under a portion of the ring. The insulative portion can be adjacent to the ring and disposed over a portion of the ground shield. A method of manufacturing the bushing can include placing the ring and the ground shield into a mold, the ground shield including holes therein, and injecting insulative material into the mold to create an insulative layer within a cavity formed by the ring and the ground shield, the holes in the ground shield allowing some of the insulating material to flow therethrough to create the insulative portion adjacent the ring. | 06-24-2010 |
20100048046 | ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR INCLUDING A RING AND A GROUND SHIELD - A high-voltage electrical connector system comprises a bushing with a longitudinal axis, a shoulder, a first end, and a second end, wherein the shoulder is between the first end and the second end; a ring arranged circumferentially around a first outside diameter of the bushing, the ring disposed between the shoulder and the second end, the ring including a channel therein defining a circumferential extension extending axially toward the first end; a ground shield disposed on a second outside diameter of the bushing between the ring and the second end, the ground shield comprising one or more of conductive material and semiconductive material; and an insulative portion adjacent the ring and disposed circumferentially over a portion of the ground shield. | 02-25-2010 |
