| 20110228830 | METHOD FOR THE ESTIMATION OF OFDM PARAMETERS BY ADAPTATION OF COVARIANCE - This invention relates to a method for the blind or semi-blind estimation of at least one modulation parameter of an OFDM signal utilising a method for adapting the covariance. According to this method, a plurality of values of this parameter are tested by calculating, for each of these values, a distance between a covariance matrix of vectors composed of samples of the signal and a theoretical covariance matrix. The estimated value of the parameter is the tested value which achieves the shortest distance. Said method provides a very good rate of good estimates, even when the OFDM prefix is short or absent.
