20120116286INTESTINAL SLEEVES AND ASSOCIATED DEPLOYMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS - An intestinal implant includes a proximal anchor self-expandable from a radially compressed position to a radially expandable position for engagement with a wall of the intestinal lumen and a flexible sleeve coupled to the anchor. The sleeve is implanted with the anchor downstream from the pylorus and the sleeve extending further downstream through the intestinal lumen.05-10-2012
20120022430SATIATION DEVICES AND METHODS - A device for inducing weight loss in a patient includes a tubular prosthesis self-expandable from a collapsed position in which the prosthesis has a first diameter to an expanded position in which the prosthesis has a second, larger, diameter. In a method for inducing weight loss, the prosthesis is placed in the collapsed position and inserted into a stomach of a patient. The prosthesis is allowed to self-expand from the collapsed position to the expanded position and into contact with the walls of the stomach, where it induces feelings of satiety and/or inhibits modulation of satiety-controlling factors such as Ghrelin.01-26-2012

20120004590SATIATION POUCHES AND METHODS OF USE - A method for controlling appetite by means of a satiation device is disclosed. The device, which includes a flexible webbing defining proximal and distal openings and a biasing structure, is attached to the patient's stomach with the proximal opening positioned adjacent and below the patient's gastro-esophageal junction. The biasing structure imparts pressure against the wall of the patient's stomach adjacent the gastro-esophageal junction.01-05-2012
20110319924Gastric Space Occupier Systems And Methods Of Use - Systems for controlling obesity utilize a number of space occupiers positioned in the stomach to reduce the effective volume of the stomach. Such arrangements provides sufficient stomach volume consumption to induce weight loss, but enable use of space occupiers that are proportioned to minimize the threat of obstruction even if they should migrate into the intestine. In general, numerous small volume space occupiers are placed in the stomach such that the total volume equals or exceeds the single volume of prior art single unit space occupiers. However, each individual space occupier is proportioned so that it will pass without obstruction if it moves into the intestine.12-29-2011
20100280529ENDOSCOPIC IMPLANT SYSTEM AND METHOD - A system, device, device and method for implanting a food restrictor in a patient's stomach, by coupling the restrictor to a plurality of tissue-plication anchors already placed in the stomach, are disclosed. The device includes an elongate shaft assembly for accessing the stomach transorally, and on which the restrictor can be carried, and a plurality of cable members mounted on the shaft assembly. The cable members are disposed on the shaft assembly along a distal section thereof, and releasably attached to the shaft assembly's distal end. After a cable member engages a tissue-plication anchor, retracting the cable is operable to first release the member from a holder at the the distal end of the shaft assembly, then pull a portion of the anchor through an aperture in the restrictor. This process is repeated for each anchor in the stomach for attaching the restrictor to the stomach.11-04-2010
20100276469PLICATION TAGGING DEVICE AND METHOD - An improvement in a stapling device and method designed to capture a tissue fold between first and second members in the device and to staple and cut the fold to form a stapled tissue plication with a hole therein is disclosed. The improvement includes an engagement assembly in the first member movable from a retracted position in the first member to an extended position in the second member, and releasably attached to second member, an anchor assembly that includes the anchor, wherein (i) movement of the engagement assembly from its retracted to its extended position, through a tissue fold captured in the device between the first and second device members, is operable to engage the anchor assembly, and (ii) movement of the engagement assembly, with the anchor assembly engaged therewith, back toward its retracted position, is effective to pull at least a portion of the assembly through the hole in the stapled tissue plication formed by the device.11-04-2010
