20140068809 | STRESS RESPONSIVE EXPRESSION - The present invention relates to the identification of transcriptional control sequences that are active in plants in response to stress. Accordingly, methods for effecting stress responsive expression of a nucleotide sequence of interest in a plant are provided, the methods including expressing the nucleotide sequence of interest operably connected to a transcriptional control sequence which is stress inducible in the plant, wherein the nucleotide sequence of interest is heterologous with respect to the transcriptional control sequence. Also provided are nucleic acid constructs including the stress inducible transcriptional control sequences, genetically modified cells including the nucleic acid constructs, and multicellular structures including one or more of the genetically modified cells. | 03-06-2014 |
20130084562 | TETHERED ENZYME MEDIATED NUCLEIC ACID DETECTION - The present invention relates to methods and compositions for detecting a target nucleotide sequence in a sample. In particular, the methods and compositions of the present invention employ a reporter enzyme tethered to a solid support via a tether nucleotide sequence. A disclosed method for detecting a target nucleotide sequence comprises providing a linker nucleotide sequence comprising a probe sequence that can hybridize to the target sequence and a trigger which can hybridize to the tether nucleotide sequence when the probe sequence binds to the target. The linker nucleotide can have a stem-loop structure. When the trigger hybridizes to the tether nucleotide sequence, the tether is able to be digested by a nuclease, releasing the reporter enzyme from the solid support. The activity of the released reporter enzyme on a spatially or temporally separated substrate generates a detectable signal. In some embodiments, the reporter enzyme releases a feedback trigger that can hybridize to the tether nucleotide sequence and release further reporter enzymes, amplifying the signal via a feedback loop. | 04-04-2013 |
20110321186 | MODULATION OF PLANT CELL WALL DEPOSITION VIA HDZIPI - The instant invention is predicated, in part, on the functional characterization of homeodomain/leucine zipper (HDZip) polypeptides which modulate various aspects of cell wall deposition in plants, including secondary cell wall deposition. The present invention provides, among other things, methods for modulating cell wall deposition in plant cells; plant cells and plants having modulated cell wall deposition; and methods for determining and/or predicting the rate and/or extent of cell wall deposition in plant cells and plants. | 12-29-2011 |
20110231954 | GL9 TRANSCRIPTIONAL CONTROL SEQUENCES - The present invention relates to transcriptional control sequences derived from GL9 genes, wherein the transcriptional control sequences direct specific or preferential expression of an operably connected nucleotide sequence of interest in one or more parts of a plant seed. | 09-22-2011 |
20100281583 | BORON TRANSPORTER - The present invention relates to boron transporters and, in particular, to boron transporters derived from plants. The present invention also relates to methods that utilise boron transporters, such as methods for modulating boron transport in cells and methods for determining the level or rate of boron transport in a cell or organism on the basis of the expression level of one or more boron transporters. | 11-04-2010 |
20100146671 | TARGETING VECTOR - The present invention relates generally to nucleic acid constructs, which are useful for inserting a nucleotide sequence of interest into a target nucleic acid molecule via homologous recombination. The present invention also relates to methods for producing such constructs. | 06-10-2010 |
