The system may include an electronic data processor which may be configured to receive information associated with a device when a web request is transmitted by the device to access a web page monitored by the electronic data processor. The processor may also determine whether traffic associated with the web request from the device is suspected of being used for malicious activity and, if not, enable the device to access the web page. If the traffic is suspected of being used for malicious activity, then the processor may transmit a challenge to the device if the traffic is determined to be suspected. Furthermore, the processor may receive information associated with the web request, which may be provided by a uniform resource locator invoked in response to the traffic being determined to be suspected. The processor may also deny the device access to the web page based on a variety of factors.02-09-2012

20120036227Reducing DNS Lookups - A method for reducing Domain Name System (DNS) lookup traffic in a computer data network in a system including a router in communication with a client computer includes the steps of receiving a DNS lookup request through a web browser when the user requests to open a particular URL. The router sends the DNS lookup request for a hostname of the web server to a DNS server and receives a corresponding IP address. The router forwards the IP address to the web browser and the web browser sends a network connection request with a file transfer request to the router. The router forwards the request to the web server. The web server responds to the request by sending an HTML document for the web page. Upon receiving the HTML document, the router examines the HTML document for the URLs associated with image elements to be downloaded for display of a web page and sends one DNS lookup request for each of the distinct hostnames, regardless of how many times that distinct hostname appears in the HTML document. The router receives IP addresses, each of which corresponds to one of each of the distinct hostnames and modifies the HTML document by replacing the each of the distinct hostnames, including their recurrences, in the URLs associated with the image elements with their corresponding IP addresses.02-09-2012

20110145365Systems, Methods and Machine-Readable Mediums for Integrated Quality Assurance Brokering Services - Systems, methods and machine-readable mediums for interfacing a plurality of service providers to address at least one service issue, are provided. The systems may include a storage device and a processor. The storage device may store service provider data and service request data for a plurality of service providers. The service request data identifying the at least one service issue with one or more of the plurality of service providers. In one embodiment, the processor may programmed to receive the service provider data from a plurality of service provider terminals, receive the service request data from at least one remote terminal, store the service provider data and the service request data in the storage device, and facilitate communication between the first service provider terminal and the customer terminal to address the at least one service issue. The computer readable mediums provide instructions to cause the processor to perform the operations above.06-16-2011
20110145317DATA ROUTING IN A CONTENT DISTRIBUTION NETWORK FOR MOBILITY DELIVERY - System(s) and method(s) are provided to route data within a network of content with specific service constraints to mobile devices. A mobile network management component receives an identifier (ID) of a base station that serves a mobile device that originates a request for data, and relays the ID to a network platform that administers content. A mapping that associates one or more base stations with a deployed content node and the received ID are utilized to identify a content node to serve the request for data via the base station. The received request for data is directed to the identified content node. A service constraint configuration can be allocated for exchange of payload data between the mobile device and the network platform. For a request to consume data and a request to supply data, identified content node delivers data and receives data, respectively, in accordance with the service constraint allocation.06-16-2011
20110145160INFORMATION POSTING BY STRATEGIC USERS IN A SOCIAL NETWORK - Embodiments are directed to modeling propagation of an information item in an online social network. A quality value for the information item to be posted in the online social network is calculated, and the quality value is compared to a posting threshold value. The posting threshold value being determined based on a strategic user model. A propagation of the information item through the online social network is emulated based on the comparison.06-16-2011
20110145156Method and System for Acquiring High Quality Non-Expert Knowledge from an On-Demand Workforce - Systems and computer-implemented methods include a validation phase in which validation projects are submitted to an online crowdsourcing system. The validation projects each have different combinations of the two validation control parameters, payment per human intelligence task (“HIT”) and number of solutions per HIT. By analyzing the solutions for the validation projects, final control parameters can be selected from the validation project having the best combination of high quality, low cost, and short time to completion. The final control parameters can be submitted along with a final project to the online crowdsourcing system. In addition, a novel outlier detection algorithm enables the system to detect outlier workers based on the distribution of non-experts' agreement probabilities, reject outlier workers' results, and thus save labeling cost.06-16-2011
20110145002AUTOMATIC DETECTION OF AUDIO ADVERTISEMENTS - A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium for editing a data stream based on a corpus are provided. The data stream includes stream words. A sequence includes a predetermined number of sequential words of the stream words. The method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium determine whether the sequence exists in the corpus at least at a predetermined minimum frequency. When the sequence exists in the corpus at least at the predetermined minimum frequency, the sequence is edited in the data stream.06-16-2011
20110145001AUTOMATED DETECTION AND FILTERING OF AUDIO ADVERTISEMENTS - A data stream is filtered to produce a filtered data stream. The data stream is analyzed based on an acoustic parameter to determine whether a predetermined condition is satisfied. At least one extraneous portion of the data stream, in which the predetermined condition is satisfied, is determined. Thereafter, the at least one extraneous portion is deleted from the data stream to produce the filtered data stream.06-16-2011
20110144995SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TIGHTLY COUPLING AUTOMATIC SPEECH RECOGNITION AND SEARCH - Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for performing a search. A system configured to practice the method first receives from an automatic speech recognition (ASR) system a word lattice based on speech query and receives indexed documents from an information repository. The system composes, based on the word lattice and the indexed documents, at least one triple including a query word, selected indexed document, and weight. The system generates an N-best path through the word lattice based on the at least one triple and re-ranks ASR output based on the N-best path. The system aggregates each weight across the query words to generate N-best listings and returns search results to the speech query based on the re-ranked ASR output and the N-best listings. The lattice can be a confusion network, the arc density of which can be adjusted for a desired performance level.06-16-2011
20110144989SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUDIBLE TEXT CENTER SUBSYSTEM - Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for sending a spoken message as a text message. The method includes initiating a connection with a first subscriber, receiving from the first subscriber a spoken message and spoken information associated with at least one recipient address. The method further includes converting the spoken message to text via an audible text center subsystem (ATCS), and delivering the text to the recipient address. The method can also include verifying a subscription status of the first subscriber, or delivering the text to the recipient address based on retrieved preferences of the first subscriber. The preferences can be retrieved from a consolidated network repository or embedded within the spoken message. Text and the spoken message can be delivered to the same or different recipient addresses. The method can include updating recipient addresses based on a received oral command from the first subscriber.06-16-2011
