20120035744AMNION AND CHORION CONSTRUCTS AND USES THEREOF IN JOINT REPAIR - A construct for use in a surgical repair of a damaged or inflamed joint is described. The construct contains an allograft having at least one layer of human amnion and chorion tissues, and is adapted for enclosing a damaged or inflamed joint or for covering or replacing a damaged or inflamed joint sheath during the surgical repair. Methods of preparing the construct and using it in a surgical repair of a damaged or inflamed joint are also described. The products and methods improve the performance of the joint surgery, e.g., by reducing inflammation, inhibiting fibrosis, scarring, fibroblast proliferation and post-operative infection while also promoting more rapid healing of damaged or traumatized joints.02-09-2012
20120035743AMNION AND CHORION CONSTRUCTS AND USES THEREOF IN MINIMALLY INVASIVE SURGERIES - A construct for use in a minimally invasive surgery is described. The construct contains an allograft having at least one layer of human amnion and chorion tissues, and is adapted for insertion into a small incision or a cannula employed in the minimally invasive surgery for access to the surgical site. The allograft has a shape appropriate for covering the surgical site. Methods of preparing the construct and using it in a minimally invasive surgery are also described. The products and methods improve the performance of the minimally invasive surgery, e.g., by reducing adhesions, scar formation while also reducing inflammation and risk of post-operative infection.02-09-2012
20120020933METHOD OF NERVE REPAIR WITH AMNION AND CHORION CONSTRUCTS - Improved methods for the surgical repair of a damaged or severed nerve are described. The improvement includes covering the surgically repaired nerve or a damaged neurilemma with at least one of an amniotic fluid and a construct, or replacing the damaged neurilemma with the construct prior to wound closing during the surgery. The construct contains an allograft having at least one layer of amnion and chorion tissues, and a shape adapted for enclosing a damaged or severed nerve or for covering or replacing the damaged neurilemma during the surgical repair. The products and methods improve the performance of the nerve surgery, e.g., by reducing inflammation, inhibiting fibrosis, scarring, fibroblast proliferation, post-operative infection while also promoting more rapid healing of damaged or traumatized nerve structures.01-26-2012
20120010727AMNION AND CHORION CONSTRUCTS AND USES THEREOF IN SPORT INJURY SURGERIES - Improved methods for sport injury surgeries are described. The improvement includes covering a damaged site of fascia with at least one of an amniotic fluid and a construct for use in surgical repair of the sport injury prior to wound closing. The construct contains an allograft comprising at least one layer of human amnion and chorion tissues and the construct has a size and shape suitable for covering the damaged site of fascia. The method improves fascial membrane repair, reduces complications and recovery time of sport injury surgeries.01-12-2012
20120010708AMNION AND CHORION REPLACEMENT COVER AND USES THEREOF IN SURGICAL REPAIR OF MUSCLES - Improved methods for a surgical repair of a muscle are described. The improvement includes covering a damaged site of muscle with at least one of an amniotic fluid and a replacement cover for muscle sheath prior to wound closing during the surgery. The replacement cover contains at least one layer of human amnion and chorion tissues and is adapted to a shape appropriate for enclosing the muscle. The methods reduce inflammation, inhibit fibrosis, scarring, fibroblast proliferation and post-operative infection, while also promote more rapid healing and smooth gliding of the affected muscle against adjacent structures. Related replacement covers, kits and methods of preparation are also described.01-12-2012
20110307059METHOD OF TENDON REPAIR WITH AMNION AND CHORION CONSTRUCTS - It is described a construct for use in surgical repair of tendon. The construct contains at least one layer of human amnion and chorion tissues and is generally cylindrical with a C-shaped cross-section to allow for ease of implantation over the tendon. Methods for preparing the construct is described. In addition, an improved method for surgical repair of a damaged or diseased tendon using the construct is also described. The improved method reduces adhesions, scar formation, inflammation and risk of post-operative infection.12-15-2011
