20100188468 | APPARATUS FOR IMPRINTING A SHEET WEB - An apparatus for imprinting a sheet web includes two cylinders that rotate with a circumferential speed that corresponds to the speed of the web and which support the web over a specified angle region. Contactless printing heads are arranged side by side and at a distance to the circumferential surface of the associated cylinder and positioned transverse to the rotational direction of the associated cylinder. The printing heads each have a face oriented tangential to the associated cylinder and a center line that is essentially radial to the circumferential surface of the associated cylinder. A guiding device includes first and second guide devices associated with the respective cylinders to guide the web. Each guide device includes at least one pressure roller that fits against the surface of the associated cylinder and an element arranged to pull the web tangentially from the circumferential surface of the associated cylinder along a tangential path section. The guiding device further guides the web so that when the web rests on one cylinder, one side of the web may be imprinted and when the web rests on the other cylinder, the other side of the web may be imprinted. A tension device generates a desired web tension in the web. At least two quality measuring devices each associated with a respective one of the cylinders determine a quality of the web after the web leaves the associated cylinder at a location along the tangential web section. | 07-29-2010 |
20100187745 | APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING BOOK BLOCKS - An apparatus for producing book blocks includes a station to dispense a sheet web that moves in longitudinal direction and can be imprinted. A printing station has two cylinders that rotate with a circumferential speed corresponding to the movement speed of the web and function to support in a contacting manner the web with their circumferential surfaces over a specified angle. Contactless printing heads are assigned to each cylinder, arranged at a distance to the circumferential surface of the associated cylinder, and positioned side by side and at least essentially transverse to the circumferential and rotational direction of the associated cylinder. The printing head faces are oriented substantially tangential to the associated cylinder and the center lines of the printing heads are oriented to project substantially radially to the circumferential surface of the associated cylinder. The web is guided so that when it rests on one cylinder, one side of the web is imprinted and when it rests on the other cylinder, the other side of the web is imprinted. A desired web tension is created in the printing station. A cutting station is arranged downstream of the printing station to cut the printed web in longitudinal and transverse directions to form sheets having a predetermined height and width. An overlapping station arranges the cut sheets into an overlapping formation. A station collects the sheets to produce stacks that form book blocks. | 07-29-2010 |
20100133742 | APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FORMING A STREAM OF OVERLAPPING SHEETS OR STACKS OF SHEETS - An apparatus for forming a stream of overlapping sheets or stacks of sheets, includes a first transport device to deliver overlap-free sheets or stacks of sheets at a speed v | 06-03-2010 |
20090134267 | Unwinding device for winding drum - An unwinding device for wound rolls includes a bearing element, a first support element and a second support element mounted on the bearing element. The first and second support elements are adapted to rotatably hold the wound roll on opposed sides. The first support element and the second support element are movable along the bearing element with respect to one another, such that a distance between the first support element and the second support element changes. The unwinding device also includes a drive mechanism adapted to move the first support element and the second support element along the bearing element. The drive mechanism includes a tensioner movable along the bearing element, and a first engagement member disposed on the first support element. The first engagement member is adapted to releasably lock the first support element to the tensioner. | 05-28-2009 |
