Abstract:
An infant walking support handle device extends between an adult and an
infant allowing the infant to grasp the device and be supported by the
adult without the adult having to bend over. The device includes a shaft
having a first end and a second end. A first handle is coupled to the
first end of the shaft. A second handle is coupled to the second end of
the shaft. A length of the shaft is adjustable.Claims:
1. An infant walking support handle device comprising: a shaft having a
first end and a second end; a first handle coupled to said first end of
said shaft, said first handle being straight, said first handle being
coplanar with and perpendicular to said shaft; a second handle coupled to
said second end of said shaft, said second handle being straight, said
second handle being coplanar with and perpendicular to said shaft, said
second handle being parallel to and coplanar with said first handle, each
of said first handle and said second handle having respective free ends,
each of said free ends being spaced equidistant from said shaft; and a
length of said shaft being adjustable.

4. The device of claim 1, further comprising each of said first handle and said second handle having a circular cross-sectional shape, a diameter of said first handle being greater than a diameter of said second handle.

The device of claim 1, further comprising: said shaft having a pair of nested sections, a first one of said nested sections having a plurality of aligned apertures; and a pin being coupled to a second one of said nested sections, said pin engaging a selectable one of said apertures wherein said pin secures said shaft at a selectable length.
6. The device of claim 5, further comprising a biasing member coupled to said second one of said nested sections, said biasing member urging said pin outwardly from said second one of said nested sections.
7. An infant walking support handle device comprising: a shaft having a first end and a second end, said shaft having a pair of nested sections, a first one of said nested sections having a plurality of aligned apertures, a length of said shaft being adjustable; a first handle coupled to said first end of said shaft, said first handle being straight, said first handle being coplanar with and perpendicular to said shaft; a second handle coupled to said second end of said shaft, said second handle being straight, said second handle being coplanar with and perpendicular to said shaft, said second handle being parallel to and coplanar with said first handle, each of said first handle and said second handle having a circular cross-sectional shape, a diameter of said first handle being greater than a diameter of said second handle, each of said first handle and said second handle having respective free ends, each of said free ends being spaced equidistant from said shaft; a pin being coupled to a second one of said nested sections, said pin engaging a selectable one of said apertures wherein said pin secures said shaft at a selectable length; and a biasing member coupled to said second one of said nested sections, said biasing member urging said pin outwardly from said second one of said nested sections.

BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE
Field of the Disclosure
[0001] The disclosure relates to handle devices and more particularly pertains to a new handle device for extending between an adult and an infant allowing the infant to grasp the device and be supported by an adult without the adult having to bend over.
SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0002] An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a shaft having a first end and a second end. A first handle is coupled to the first end of the shaft. A second handle is coupled to the second end of the shaft. A length of the shaft is adjustable.
[0003] There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0010] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new handle device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
[0011] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the infant walking support handle device 10 generally comprises a shaft 12 having a first end 14 and a second end 16. The shaft 12 has a pair of nested sections 18,20 such that a length of the shaft 12 is adjustable. A first one of the nested sections 18 has a plurality of aligned apertures 22. A pin 24 is coupled to a second one of the nested sections 20. The pin 24 engages a selectable one of the apertures 22 wherein the pin 24 secures the shaft 12 at a selectable length. A biasing member 26 is coupled to the second one of the nested sections 20. The biasing member 26 urges the pin 24 outwardly from the second one of the nested sections 20 and through the selectable one of the apertures 22.
[0012] A first handle 28 is coupled to the first end 14 of the shaft 12. The first handle 28 is straight and transverse to the shaft 12. The first handle 28 is bisected by the first end 14 of the shaft 12. A second handle 30 is similarly coupled to the second end 16 of the shaft 12. The second handle 30 is straight and transverse to the shaft 12 such that the second handle 30 is parallel and coplanar with the first handle 28. Each of the first handle 28 and the second handle 30 having a circular cross-sectional shape. A diameter of the first handle 28 is greater than a diameter of the second handle 30 facilitating grasping of the first handle 28 by an adult 66 while the second handle 30 is grasped by an infant 68.
[0013] In use, the nested sections 18,20 are adjusted to set the shaft 12 at a desired length. The first handle 28 is grasped by the adult 66 while the second handle 30 is grasped by the infant 68. The adult 66 may provide stability and support to the infant 68 without having to crouch, slouch, lean, or bend downwardly to reach the hand of the infant 68. Thus, the device 10 allows for a method of supporting an infant 68 without bending over as the infant 68 practices walking and develops balance.
[0014] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
