BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE
Field of the Disclosure
[0001] The disclosure relates to playhouse devices and more particularly pertains to a new playhouse device for providing an inexpensive play area for a child.
SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0002] An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a housing that has a bottom wall, a top wall and a perimeter wall attached to and extending between the top and bottom walls. The top wall and the bottom wall are orientated parallel to each other. Each of the top and bottom walls has a rectangular shape such that the perimeter wall includes a first wall, a second wall, a third wall and a fourth wall. The first and second walls are positioned opposite of each other. The perimeter wall has a door opening extending therethrough. The door opening extends from the bottom wall toward the top wall. A door panel is pivotally coupled to the perimeter wall and is positionable in a closed position covering the door opening. The door panel has an aperture extending therethrough. The housing is comprised of a cardboard material and has a length, height and width each between 3.0 feet and 4.5 feet. The housing has an outer surface and the outer surface of the top wall and the perimeter wall is white.
[0003] There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
[0004] The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

[0009] FIG. 4 is a side view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0010] FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view of an embodiment of the disclosure taken along line 5-5 of FIG. 4.
[0011] FIG. 6 is a top perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0012] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new playhouse device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
[0013] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 6, the child's playhouse assembly 10 generally comprises a housing 12 having a bottom wall 14, a top wall 16 and a perimeter wall 18 attached to and extending between the top 16 and bottom 14 walls. The top wall 16 and the bottom wall 14 are orientated parallel to each other. Each of the top 16 and bottom 14 walls has a rectangular shape such that the perimeter wall 18 includes a first wall 20, a second wall 22, a third wall 24 and a fourth wall 26 wherein the first 20 and second 22 walls are positioned opposite of each other.
[0014] The perimeter wall 18 has a door opening 28 extending therethrough. The door opening 28 extends from the bottom wall 14 toward the top wall 16. A door panel 30 may be pivotally coupled to the perimeter wall 18 and is positionable in a closed position covering the door opening. The door panel 30 may be formed from a flap coupled to the perimeter wall 18 and pivotable along a fold line between the door panel 30 and the perimeter wall 18. The door panel 30 may further have an aperture 32 extending therethrough to facilitate actuation of the door panel 30.
[0015] The perimeter wall 18 has a window opening 34 extending therethrough, and may include several window openings 34 as is shown in FIG. 5. The window opening 34 is spaced from the top 16 and bottom 14 walls. A window panel 36, as shown in FIG. 6, may be pivotally coupled to the perimeter wall 18 and is positionable in a closed position covering the window opening 34. The door opening 28 is positioned in the first wall 20 while the window opening 34 is positioned in one of the second 22, third 24 or fourth 26 walls. As can be seen in the Figures, each of the second 22, third 24 and fourth 26 walls may include a window. Moreover, as shown in FIG. 5, the window openings 34 may each be provided without window panels 36. The window panels 36, like the door panel 30, may comprise a flap integral to the perimeter wall 18 and be simply pivotable about a fold line where the window panels 36 and the perimeter wall 18 are joined together.
[0016] The housing 12 is comprised of a cardboard material. This allows for inexpensive construction and the easy positioning of window openings 34 where desired. The housing 12 has a length, height and width each is between 3.0 feet and 4.5 feet. Further, the housing 12 has an outer surface 38 wherein the outer surface 38 of the top wall 16 and the perimeter wall 18 is white. By having the outer surface 38 be white, the housing 12 provides a place for being written upon by a child. More particularly, the outer surface 38 may coated in a dry-erase material, or white-board, that allows a child to write upon the outer surface 38 with non-permanent markers which can then be wiped away and re-used.
[0017] The top wall 16 may also have an access opening 40 therein. The access opening 40 is spaced from the perimeter wall 18 a distance of at least 0.5 feet. A top flap 42 is pivotally coupled to the top wall 16 and is positionable in a closed position closing the access opening 40.
[0018] In use, the housing 1 is used as a playhouse for a child and would typically be used within a dwelling due to its paper construction. The outside surface 38 allows for children to mark upon it as desired. Moreover, the outer surface 38 may include pre-printed indicia such as characters, art or the child's name.
[0019] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0020] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word "comprising" is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article "a" does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
