Abstract:
The purpose of this device is to protect the gun and/or scope or gun
without scope from rain and snow during the act of hunting. The ability
of the hunter while in the act of hunting to remove the device from gun
or scoped gun quickly and quietly before firing the gun. At the same time
of removal of device from scope/gun to retain via attached lanyard.Claims:
1. A gun hood comprising: a) a sheet of material slit and stitched to
form a hood for a gun, said hood sized to fit over and partially surround
the gun, said hood comprised of a front, a rear, and a central portion,
said rear portion forming a partial closure of said hood, said front
portion forming a partial closure of said hood, said front portion having
an open bottom portion, said rear portion having an open bottom portion,
and said central portion having an open bottom portion;
2. The gun hood of claim 1 further comprising a lanyard for attaching said hood to a user.
3. The gun hood of claim 1 further comprising a lanyard for attaching said hood to said gun.
4. The gun hood of claim 1 further comprising straps for attaching said gun hood to said gun.
5. The gun hood of claim 1 wherein said material is waterproof.

Description:
BACKGROUND
[0001] Heretofore protective coverings for guns required unfastening and/or unwrapping of device before the gun could be fired. The Gun Hood would act like a hood over the gun receiver or the gun receiver and scope. This device could be in place during the hunt and could easily and quietly be removed by lifting off or by a pull on the lanyard. The device will also be secured via an attached lanyard connected to the hunters wrist, gunstock or from of hunters clothing during the act of hunting.

DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
[0022] This is a new protective cover device for a gun receiver and/or gun scope. The purpose is to use this device while hunting to protect the gun scope, if mounted on gun, and gun receiver from rain and snow; and to be quickly and quietly removed from gun and/or gun scope prior to firing the gun. FIG. 1&2 The cover "8" is to be made of a heavy cloth that is moisture proof or resistant. It will have a tether "9" that can be attached to stock of gun "10" or to hunters wrist "11". FIG. 3&4 The tether also could be attached to the front of the clothing of the hunter by a clip "12". FIG. 5 The ends "13" of the cover will be tapered so as not to snag on gun or scope"14". FIG. 1 The sides "15" of device will be tapered down to the rear to protect the receiver of gun. FIG. 1 The device will be made in different sizes to accommodate guns with or without scope and scope with different lengths and widths. The device will also be supplied straps "20" to secure device to gun when gun is being carried via shoulder strap. FIG. 6 Straps will have hook and loop attachment on ends for connecting each straps ends together. The straps could be made from stretchable type material.
