CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
[0001] This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 61,550,161, entitled "Removable Radiator Bracket Filter Systems," filed Oct. 21, 2011, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0002] The present disclosure generally relates to filter systems, and more particularly to removable radiator bracket filter systems.
BACKGROUND
[0003] Radiator filter systems require regular cleaning in order to avoid possible overheating given that they may sometimes be in constant operation. Sometimes this cleaning may not occur as regularly as it should as it can be costly and time-consuming insofar as the radiator system may have to be put on hold in order to perform such cleaning. In addition, it often may be difficult to remove and then replace a filter in a filter system in order to perform such cleaning.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0018] Filter systems according to embodiments of the present disclosure may be provided in several forms--old-style, new-style and combo-style--to accommodate the various types of radiator pumps that may be attached to such filter systems. As will be described below, the structure of filter systems according to embodiments of the present disclosure may provide a user with means to more easily insert and remove a filter from the filter system, thereby allowing a user to more regularly clean and/or replace the filters to avoid overheating, for example, in a radiator pump. Use of filter systems according to embodiments of the present disclosure also may help to avoid undesirable slow-downs and/or to minimize downtime in use of the radiator pumps when cleaning may be needed.
[0019] It should be appreciated that filter systems according to embodiments of the present disclosure may generally be formed using metal, such as galvanized steel. However, other materials, such as composites, may be used to form filter systems according to embodiments of the present disclosure provided that the materials may withstand temperatures in the range of approximately 250 degrees Fahrenheit--a typical operating range for pumps to which filter systems according to embodiments of the present disclosure may be attached.
[0020] Regardless of the filter system, each of the filter systems may be utilized with a variety of filters and pumps according to embodiments of the present disclosure. Filters, for example, may be customizable to fit into filter systems according to embodiments of the present disclosure. Pumps that may be utilized with filter systems formed according to embodiments of the present disclosure may include, but are not necessarily limited to, vacuum pumps such as Busch RA0630, Airtech L/H 630-G1, and/or Squire Cogswell SD25-N or S25-N. However, it should be appreciated that other pumps may be fitted for use with these filter systems without departing from the present disclosure. Such pumps may be medium vacuum or may provide deeper vacuum. Pumps also may be flooded in different manners and/or contain varying numbers of vanes without departing from the present disclosure.
[0021] Filter systems according to embodiments of the present disclosure may be used in a variety of industries including, but not limited to, chemical, pharmaceutical, packaging, food processing, injection molding, thermoforming, healthcare, and/or other processing-related applications. However, it should be appreciated that these filter systems may be used in other industries or for other applications where reduction or trapping of contaminants may be needed without departing from the present disclosure.
[0022] FIG. 1 depicts a left perspective view of old-style filter system 10 including filter 101 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Filter system 10 may include body 102 having an opening at a top edge through which filter 101 may be received. A bottom edge of body 102 may be solid, such as in a tray formation, to receive filter 101 and avoid filter 101 sliding through body 102. Extension portions 103a, 103b may protrude from receiving portions 107a, 107b (not shown) relative to the left and right edges of body 102. Receiving portions 107a, 107b may be tray or ledge-shaped to receive sides of filter 101. Each of extension portions 103a, 103b may include respective U-shaped curved portions 104a, 104b at the ends of extension portions 103a, 103b opposite body 102. Aperture tabs 105a, 105b may be positioned at the end points of U-shaped curved portion 104a. Similarly, apertures 106a, 106b may be positioned at the end points of U-shaped curved portion 104b. Each of aperture tabs 105a, 105b, 106a, 106b may be used to attach filter system 10 to a pump (not shown) such that filter 101 may be removed from filter system 10, cleaned, and then re-placed into filter system 10. While the apertures in the aperture tabs are depicted as somewhat circular in shape, it should be appreciated that the apertures may be formed in any shape to attach to a desired pump without departing from the present disclosure.
[0023] FIG. 2 depicts a bottom side view of new-style filter system 30 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Filter system 30 may include a frame formed from top portion 301.
