A bag with a tube-shaped body is made of a flexible material, sealed to
from the bottom and opening at the top. It also has a separate sealing
device in order to close the opening for the purposes of storage and
transport. On the tube-shaped body there are at least two parallel
pre-cut lines on the front and back or printed markings that run from the
opening of the bag to the bottom and that lead to two lateral strips that
are designed to be tied into a knot and thereby shut the opening of the
bag once it has been opened without the need for separate sealing
1. A bag for various products, particularly foodstuffs, of the type
comprising:a tube-shaped body made out of flexible sheeting, the tube
shaped body being sealed at a bottom and having an opening at an
uppermost end, the tube-shaped body having at least two pre-cut lines on
front and back surfaces of the tube-shaped body opposite each other, the
pre-cut lines running from the opening towards the back of the
tube-shaped body along part of its length to define side strips; and
separate sealing devices that close the opening for the purposes of
storage and transport;wherein the side strips enable the bag to be
knotted once it has been opened without the separate sealing devices
2. The bag of claim 1, wherein the flexible sheeting of the tube-shaped body is made of a plastic material.
3. The bag of claim 1, wherein the pre-cut lines further define detachable sections between the strips for closing the bag with a knot.
4. The bag according to claim 1, wherein the pre-cut lines are straight and arranged lengthwise.
5. A bag comprising:a tube-shaped body made out of flexible sheeting and having a sealed bottom and an opening at an uppermost end, wherein near the opening on at least one of a back surface and a front surface of the tube-shaped body there are markings that show an area to be cut to separate and form two side strips; and separate sealing devices (4) that close the opening (3) for the purposes of storage and transport; wherein the side strips are configured such that once the tube-shaped body is cut to form the side strips, the side strips enable the bag to be knotted once it has been opened without the need for separate sealing devices.
PURPOSES OF THE INVENTION
This invention is a bag for various products, more specifically for the protection of food products. It can be opened and closed repeatedly, thus keeping the product inside protected at all times.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
There are several bags already on the market that are designed to protect various products, mainly foodstuffs, so that they remain unaltered and uncontaminated by dirt or manhandling during their transportation or display upon sale.
One example of one of these bags is that which is made up of a tube-shaped body of flexible material. It is sealed at the bottom and has an opening at its uppermost end. The bag also has a separate sealing device that closes the opening for the purposes of storage and transport.
The separate sealing device can either be an encased piece of wire, a strip of ductile material or a clasp, among others. The device is placed around the opening to keep it firmly closed. This sealing device has the advantage of being reusable as many times as the bag is opened and closed. However, when the bag is opened it is often misplaced, which means it cannot be subsequently resealed as intended.
Another alternative is closing the opening through the use of a more permanent closing device, such as thermosealing. This method means the bag can only be opened if the seal is broken. Consequently, if the entire contents of the bag are not consumed in one go, the remaining food will remain unprotected as the bag cannot be resealed.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The bag for various products, the subject matter of this invention, has been specifically designed to allow the bag to be simply and easily resealed once it has been opened, thereby avoiding the need to keep the separate sealing device that was originally used to close the bag.
The invention has a tube-shaped body that runs from the bottom to the opening, and on the front and back surfaces two pre-cut lines run parallel. These two pre-cut lines run from the opening of the bag to its bottom and lead to two lateral strips that tie up and thereby close the opening of the bag after it is first opened, without the need for any other sealing devices.
This is the standard set-up for this kind of bag as a clasp or a ductile, flexible strip is used to seal it. However, the difference here is that once it is open, the ductile strip is no longer needed, as the bag can be closed by tying a simple knot by separating the two side strips, with the added advantage that the knot can be untied and retied as many times as is necessary. The pre-cut lines allow the bag to be torn open manually without any extra implements being necessary, and the operation is therefore extremely easy for the user. These pre-cut lines can take various forms, such a stamped line, a line that weakens the material by using a laser or the printing of a line of dashes separated by spaces.
The flexible material of the tube-shaped body is made of plastic, so the bag is therefore resistant to the handling to which it will be subject whenever it is tied and untied.
One method of closing involves the use of pre-cut lines leading to two removable areas between the lateral strips that are tied to close the bag, thus making the strips more manageable when tying the knot. These removable pieces come in various forms, such as triangles or an elongated U-shape.
Another method involves the pre-cut lines being placed lengthwise and straight. The side strips are separated by tearing them open.
The flexible material used for the body has also been designed so that at least one of the top or bottom surfaces near the opening has a line that marks the lateral strips. The lateral strips can be separated by cutting the bag along this line, thereby allowing it to be tied up and closed without any other external sealing devices being necessary. Therefore, upon opening the bag for the first time, the user separates the strips by cutting the flexible material by following the line printed on the bag, for example with scissors or a small knife.
DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES
In order to provide additional information about the invention described above and to facilitate an understanding of its characteristics, a set of drawings has been included in this descriptive report, which is intended to serve by way of example only. They are as follows:
FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of a full bag that is closed using the separate sealing device before it is first opened.
FIGS. 2 to 5 show the various steps for tearing the pre-cut lines for forming the strips and the way in which these strips are knotted to close the opening of the bag.
FIGS. 6 to 9 show the various bag designs with the pre-cut lines marked for different configurations.
FIG. 10 shows a perspective view of a variation of the bag design on which the lines to be cut to separate the strips to be knotted are printed.
PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
As can be observed in the abovementioned figures, the bag that has been invented is made up of a tube-shaped body (1) comprising a flexible sheet, whose bottommost part is sealed to form the bottom (2). The uppermost part of the bag has an opening (3), which should be closed using a separate sealing device (4), in this case a ductile strip, when it is handed over to the end customer with the products inside.
FIGS. 2 and 3 show the two pre-cut lines (5) on the front and back surfaces opposite each other on the tube-shaped body (1). They run from the opening (3) towards the back (2) of the tube-shaped body (1) along part of its length to mark off the strips (6) on either side. Once they have been separated by tearing or pulling apart the pre-cut lines (5), they can be knotted and the bag opened and closed on numerous occasions without the need for the separate sealing devices.
FIGS. 4 and 5 show how the bag can be sealed with a simple knot once it has been opened and the pre-cut lines torn to separate the strips.
FIGS. 6 to 9 show some of the alternative configurations of the pre-cut lines, which can be straight or multiform, to form a removable U-shaped (7), triangular or Y-shaped section.
FIG. 10 shows the printed markings (8) on the tube-shaped body (1) on the areas where the bag should be cut to form the strips (6), which will subsequently serve to open and close the bag by knotting it.
Having given a sufficiently detailed description of the nature of the invention, as well as an example of its preferred use, it is hereby stated for the record that the materials, shape, size and arrangement of the components described may be modified, providing this does not involve essential changes to the characteristics of the invention, which are set out below.
