Description:
BACKGROUND OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
[0001]1. Field of Invention
[0002]The present invention relates to a corner protector, and more particularly to a paper made corner protector, which is able to be affixed at each of the interior edges of a packing container to protect home appliances or electrical products for shipping and handling.
[0003]2. Description of Related Arts
[0004]While transporting home appliances or electrical products, a plurality of corner protectors are commonly provided at each of the edges or corners in the packing box, in order to prevent any damage of the products due to an external force while transporting. Accordingly, the protection corners are made by foam material such as Styrofoam or foam type material, to securely transport the products by its characteristic of absorbing shocks.
[0005]Although the above corner protectors, made of Styrofoam or plastic foam materials, have good buffer and shock absorbing ability, the raw material, i.e. the Styrofoam or plastic foam, is not designed for recycling. Also, the plastic chemical material of the corner protector is difficult to be naturally degraded, and will generate a poisoned gas to the environment after the combustion processing, so as to harm the human body and the environment.
[0006]On the other hand, the corner protectors made by the Styrofoam or plastic foam material for buffering are light in weight. However, after the shaping process, the foam material of the corner protectors has a fixed shape that normally requires a considerable larger storing space. Therefore, the manufactory needs to prepare a larger storage for stocking. Furthermore, the size of the corner protectors made by Styrofoam or plastic foam materials is bulky. However, the loading capacity of the truck for transporting is limited. In other words, it requires relatively more rides for distributing the corner protectors by the truck, so as to raise the transportation cost. Also, the Styrofoam or plastic foam materials of the corner protectors do not have a good water absorbing ability. Thus, those types of corner protectors cannot provide the moisture-proof protection for the electrical products.
SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
[0007]A main object of the present invention is to provide a paper corner protector to overcome the shortages of the existing techs. Using the recyclable Kraft paper cardboard as the raw material, the present invention not only forms a corner reinforcement for using at the interior corners of a packing container by conveniently folding the Kraft paper, but also provides a good buffer, shockproof, and moisture proof at each of the interior corners or edges of a product packed within the packing container. The paper corner protector also meets the criteria of environmental protection, and can be conveniently transported, so as to reduce the transportation cost.
[0008]Accordingly, in order to accomplish the above object, the present invention adapts the following techniques to practice the present invention.
[0009]A corner protector, which is made of paper, comprises a corner reinforcement body formed by folding a cardboard edge-to-edge and defined an empty cavity between two board walls of the corner reinforcement body, wherein the space between the two board walls is empty to form said cavity.
[0010]The corner reinforcement body has a "L" shaped cross section.
[0011]Alternatively, the corner reinforcement body has a "U" shaped cross section.
[0012]Alternatively, the corner reinforcement body has a "U" shaped cross section, wherein one side longitudinal wall of the "U" shaped corner reinforcement body is higher than the opposed side longitudinal wall of the "U" shaped corner reinforcement body.
[0013]The corner reinforcement body further has a reinforcement bouncing groove indently and longitudinally formed at the outer side of the outer board wall of the corner reinforcement body for preventing the deformation of the corner reinforcement body.
[0014]The apex of the reinforcement bouncing groove is arranged to bias against the inner board wall for applying a bouncing force against the inner board wall to retain a distance between the outer and inner board walls.
[0015]The corner protector further comprises at least one reinforcing bouncer disposed within the cavity.
[0016]The reinforcing bouncer has a longitudinal tubular structure and is made of paper to fit between the inner and outer board walls.
[0017]For the corner reinforcement body having a L-shaped cross section and defining an opposite portion and an adjacent portion to form a right angled configuration, two reinforcing bouncers are applied to the L-shaped corner reinforcement body. The two reinforcing bouncers are disposed within the cavity of the corner reinforcement body within the opposite portion and the adjacent portion thereof respectively. A force transmitting link, which is made of paper, is coupled between the two reinforcing bouncers within the cavity of the corner reinforcement body.
[0018]The present invention has the following advantages: the paper corner protector can increase the convenience of transportation while transporting and reduce the transportation cost and storage space. Using the recyclable Kraft board as the cardboard of the corner protector meets the criteria of environment protection, and can be conveniently folded to form the corner protector for using in the corners or edges within the packing container. It also provides a good buffering and shockproof at each of the corners or edges of a product packed within the packing container. The reinforcement bouncing groove is integrally formed by indently folding the outer board wall of the corner reinforcement body to reinforce the structure between the outer and inner board walls. The apex of curve-shaped reinforcement bouncing groove is further inwardly extended to bias against the inner board wall within the cavity to enhance the resistance of pressure by means of bouncing force. The longitudinal tubular shaped reinforcing bouncer has high pressure resistance when the reinforcing bouncer is disposed in the cavity.
