An improved strip winding machine comprises a machine base and a cutting
device, a winding device and a press device formed on the machine base
and cooperatively to move the winding strip to be tightened onto the
article to be wrapped. The press device is improved with a plurality of
rows of press teeth formed on the lower surface of the press device with
the lined up direction of the rows in an obscured angle with respect to
the movement direction of the winding strip used to wrap an article. The
press tooth is substantially in a shape as paramount with four ridges
radially formed. And the obscured angle is preferably between five (5) to
forty (40) degrees.
1. A strip winding machine comprising:a machine base; anda cutting device,
a winding device and a press device being installed on said machine base
to cooperatively drive a winding strip tightened on an article to be
wrapped;wherein said press device comprises a body with a press block
installed thereon, said press block has a lower surface with a plurality
of rows of press teeth; each press tooth having a tooth tip forming a
series of tooth tips; the lined up series of said tooth tips being in an
obscured angle with respect to the winding strip movement direction.
2. A strip winding machine according to claim 1 wherein the obscured angle being between five (5) to forty (40) degrees.
3. A strip winding machine according to claim 1 wherein said obscured angle being preferably five (5) degrees.
4. A strip winding machine according to claim 1 wherein each of said press tooth being substantially in the shape of a paramount and having a tooth tip formed thereon; each of said tooth tip having four ridges formed thereon and each pair of said tooth tips having a valley shaped there between.
5. A strip winding machine according to claim 4 wherein said each adjacent tooth tips being aligned along a direction perpendicular to the direction toward the valley.
6. A strip winding machine according to claim 4 wherein said each adjacent tooth tips being aligned along the ridge of the press tooth.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The president invention relates to a strip winding machine and particularly relates to the improvement on the press device of the winding machine.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART
A conventional strip winding machine can be referred to that shown in FIG. 1 which is a perspective view of the winding machine. The machine 100 has a base 10 which further has a cutting device 20, a winding device 30 and a press device 40 constructed thereon. The winding machine 100 further includes a handle 60 for an operator to hold thereon and actuate a lever 50 so as to move forward and tighten the strip under the press device 40. Once the strip is tightened to its greatest extent around the article to be wrapped, the strip (not shown in the figure) will then be cut by the cutting device 20 and complete the winding operation.
It is to be noted that the strip used in this kind of strip winding machine is usually made of plastic fabrics. The strip has a plurality of horizontal and vertical strings to form the entire plastic fabric strip. The movement of the strip is under the press device 40 which has a contacting surface to move the strip in a desired direction as shown by arrow a. The structure of the press device 40 can be understood with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3 which are the illustrative front view of the operation of press device 40 as well as an enlarged view of the teeth on the press device 40 respectively. Referring to FIG. 2, the press device 40 includes a base 41 and a press block 42 formed thereon. A torsion spring 43 is installed between the base 41 and the press block 42, which moves along with the vertical movement of the press block 42. The winding strip is going to pass the gap between the under surface of the 44 of the press block 42 and the base 10. The press block 42 has a under surface 44 which has a plurality of rows of teeth 45 formed thereon. Each row of teeth 45 has a plurality of tooth tips 451. With these tooth tips 451 to fit in with the fabrics of the winding strip 70, the strip shall be moved along the axel direction (as arrow a shown in FIG. 1) to be tightened around the article to be wrapped.
The major disadvantage of this conventional strip winding machine lies on the fact that the fabrics of the winding strip may easily been cut or damaged by the tooth tips 451 causing the wrapping operation can not be completed satisfactorily. When the winding strip moves under the press block 42. From time to time, the strip even being broken by the sharp tooth tips 451 because these tips 451 are moving along the exact same direction of the movement of the strip.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
It is therefore the primary feature of the present invention to provide a strip winding machine having a press device which comprises a plurality of rows of tooth that being arranged in an obscure direction with respect to the winding strip movement direction.
It is the primary object of the present invention to provide a strip winding machine that will not cause damage to the winding strip made of plastic fabrics.
It is therefore, the improvement or feature of the present invention is to provide a strip machine which has a press device with a plurality of rows of tooth on its lower or under surface with the rows arranges in an obscure direction with respect to the movement direction of the winding strip.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
In order to better understand the structure and operation of the strip winding machine according to the present invention, the corresponding numerals used for those devices shown in the conventional machine as shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, shall be the same for simplicity but without departing from the true structure and operation of the present invention. Referring to FIG. 4 which shows a strip to be pressed by a plurality of rows of teeth 47, the rows of teeth 47 are formed on the lower surface 46 of the press block 42 of the press device 40.
Referring to FIG. 5, each row of teeth 47 is formed on the lower surface 46 in a direction having five to forty (5 to 40) degrees obscure with respect to the stripe movement direction, as the arrow "a" showed in FIG. 1. In the embodiment shown in this FIG. 5, the obscure angle is designed to be five (5) degrees. Each teeth 471 is substantially in the shape of a paramount with a tooth tip 472 formed thereon. In between every two teeth 471, it is formed a valley X. Said tooth 471 has four side faces forming a ridge Y. The tooth tips 472a, 472b, 472c, 472d are lined up along the direction of the valley X. The distance between an adjacent rows of tooth tips 472a, 472b, 472c, 472d and 472a', 472b', 472c', 472d' equals to double of the distance X.
In an actual operation of the strip winding machine according to the present invention with a plurality of obscured rows of teeth, it is better understood with reference to the machine shown in FIG. 1. When an article is to be wrapped by a winding strip, operator shall press the lever 50 making the lower surface 46 of the press block 41 to be in close contact with the strip 70. Because every row of tooth tips 472 deviates an angle than the movement direction of the strip, the article shall be tightened without any slide between the strip 70 and the tooth tips 472. Therefore the strip winding machine 100 is much more efficient in wrapping the strip onto the article to be wrapped.
In another embodiment of the tooth rows on the lower surface of the press block, the structure can be understood with reference to FIG. 6. The theory of obscured plurality of tooth rows is the same as that in FIG. 5. The difference lies on the tooth rows 48 with a series of tooth tips 481 lined up in a direction perpendicular to the valley X. Each tooth 481 has a tooth tip 482. The tooth tips 482a and 482b are adjacent to a ridge Y. However, the tooth tips 482a, 482b are lined up in adjacent along a direction of the valley X with respect to the row of tooth tips 482a', 482b' and 482c. If we take a close look of the two embodiments shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, we may find that the one in FIG. 6 is exactly the same as the one in FIG. 5 to rotate forty five (45) degrees. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 5, the distance between to adjacent rows of tooth 47 is 2X and also the distance between two adjacent tooth tips 471 is also 2X. However the embodiment in FIG. 6, we can see the distance between two tooth tips 481 is 2X but the distance between two adjacent rows of tooth 48 is 2Y. Since Y is larger than X, we can easily understood the number of contacted tooth tips 482 are less than the same situation for the tooth tips 472 in FIG. 5. In another words, the damage caused to the winding strip can be lowered for the press device used in FIG. 6.
While the present invention has been described by way of preferred embodiments, it shall be recognized and understood that various modifications can still be made without departing the spirit and scope of the present invention.
