Description:
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001]The present invention relates to an inflatable chair cushion, particularly to an inflatable chair cushion which is easy to transport, inexpensive and of assistance for getting up and sitting down.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002]Elderly persons and those who are handicapped at lower body parts have difficulties to get up from a sitting position and to sit down. Therefore, chairs and chair cushions for assisting getting up and sitting down have been brought to the market.
[0003]As shown in FIG. 6, a conventional assisting chair 50 is provided with an inclining device 51 to help persons to get up and sit down. However, the assisting chair 50 has a high volume and weight and hence is hard to move.
[0004]As shown in FIG. 7, another conventional assisting chair 60, designed to improve on the shortcomings of the assisting chair 50, comprises: a seat cushion 61; a lower plate 63, on which the chair cushion 61 is placed; and a lifting device 65, having two ends which are respectively connected with the lower plate 63 and the seat cushion 61. Thereby, a small volume is achieved. However, the assisting chair 60 has a complicated structure, a large weight and high manufacturing cost. Furthermore, adjusting a lifting force of the lifting device 65 to persons of various weights is necessary, since too large a lifting force cannot be overcome by a user for sitting down, and too small a lifting force will not prevent the user from rapidly falling to a seated position, which is dangerous.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0005]It is an object of the present invention to provide an inflatable chair cushion which assists getting up from and sitting down on a chair of a user.
[0006]Another object of the present invention is to provide an inflatable chair cushion which is inexpensive.
[0007]A further object of the present invention is to provide an inflatable chair cushion which has a low weight and hence is easy to transport.
[0008]For achieving above object, the present invention comprises an inflatable bag and a compressor for inflating and deflating said inflatable bag having a switch controlled by a user, so that said user is assisted in getting up and sitting down.
[0009]Other aspects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description, taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, illustrating by way of example the principles of the present invention.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0010]FIG. 1 is a schematic illustration of the inflatable chair cushion of the present invention in conjunction with a chair.
[0011]FIG. 2 is a schematic illustration of the inflatable chair cushion of the present invention in a deflated state.
[0012]FIGS. 3a-3c are schematic illustrations of the movement of the inflatable chair cushion of the present invention during getting up and sitting down.
[0013]FIG. 4 is a schematic illustration of the present invention placed on the lower plate of the chair.
[0014]FIG. 5 is a schematic illustration of the inflatable chair cushion of the present invention in the second embodiment.
[0015]FIG. 6 is a schematic illustration of a conventional assisting chair.
[0016]FIG. 7 is a schematic illustration of another conventional assisting chair.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0017]As shown in FIGS. 1-2, the present invention is an inflatable chair cushion 10, used in conjunction with a chair 11 having a seat 12. The inflatable chair cushion 10 comprises: an inflatable bag 20, placed on the seat 12 and inflatable on inflated end thereof; and a compressor 30 for inflating and deflating the inflatable bag 20. By inflating and deflating the inflatable bag 20, a user is assisted in getting up from and sitting down on the chair 11. In the following, a detailed description is given.
[0018]The inner inflatable bag 20 is shaped like a triangle, with the inflated end thereof reaching up relatively high in an inflated state. Production cost is low, and the user is readily assisted in getting up from and sitting down on the chair 11.
[0019]The compressor 30 has a switch 31 which is operated by the user for inflating and deflating the inflatable bag 20.
[0020]Referring to FIGS. 3a-3c, inflating and deflating the inflatable bag 20 assists the user in getting up from and sitting down on the chair 11, respectively. As shown in FIG. 3a, for seating the user, the inflatable bag 20 is inflated, supporting the user in a higher than a seated position. Subsequently, the inflatable bag 20 is deflated, so that the user is lowered to the seated position, as shown in FIG. 3b. As shown in FIG. 3c, for the user to get up, the inflatable bag 20 is inflated, raising the user to a higher than the seated position, so that the user easily gets up from there.
[0021]Referring to FIG. 4, in a deflated state, the inflatable bag 20 provides a seat cushion for the user.
[0022]Referring to FIG. 5, the present invention in a second embodiment has an inflatable bag 20a having a trapezoidal shape with a relatively high middle part.
[0023]While preferred embodiments of the invention have been set forth for the purpose of disclosure, modifications of the disclosed embodiments of the invention as well as other embodiments thereof may occur to those skilled in the art. Accordingly, the appended claims are intended to cover all embodiments which do not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention.
