Description:
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001]The present invention is related to a vivid and neat logo with cap band attached, in particular the flexible cap band is stitched to a brim inside a cap crown; the cap band can be adjusted under on-axis uniaxial tensile.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002]To prevent a blast of wind from snatching one's cap, those skilled in the arts have provided a flexible cap band stitched around a brim inside cap crown. The cap band is made of a uniaxial stretchable fabric, which can be adjusted to adapt to different head portions. Such as U.S. Pat. No. 5,715,540 entitled "Free-size Cap" to Cho, Byoung Woo on Feb. 10, 1998, U.S. Pat. No. 6,052,831 entitled "Free-size Cap" to Park, Boo Yi on Apr. 25, 2000, U.S. Pat. No. 6,493,880 entitled "Adjustable headwear" to Lo, David on Dec. 17, 2002, U.S. Pat. No. 6,571,396 entitled "Stretch band construction for caps" to Yan, Seun Ching on Jun. 3, 2003.
[0003]Furthermore, those skilled in the art have provided elastic band segments intermittently stitched to a brim inside cap crown instead of a flexible cap band stitched around the brim with seams. Or a flexible band is composed of, at least, two different fabrics applied to a cap brim. Such as U.S. Pat. No. 5,966,742 entitled "Adjustable cap" to Stephen E. Cunliffe on Oct. 19, 1999, U.S. Pat. No. 5,983,398 entitled "Headwear having internal crown and band" to Ronald Kroneberger on Nov. 16, 1999, U.S. Pat. No. 6,122,774 entitled "Free size cap" to Park, Boo Yi on Sep. 26, 2000, U.S. Pat. No. 6,336,224 entitled "Cap structure capable of elastic adjusting" to Wang, Tai-Kwang on Jan. 8, 2002, U.S. Pat. No. 6,339,844 entitled "Peaked cap" to Murray Roy Merkley on Jan. 22, 2002.
[0004]When manufacturing caps, logo decorated on a specified location on the crown is gradually promoted as one of the requested steps, which is concerned by both of the suppliers and manufacturers. While attaching logo decoration with cap band can be basically classified into direct or indirect steps, such as embroider, printing, heat transfer etc., attributed to "direct" steps, but woven label, print label, leather patch etc., attributed to "indirect" steps. Whether or not a direct or an indirect step is applied, a logo in demand as usual is added to an outer side of a crown, but not being added to a cap band composed of blend yarn with a stretchable capacity. Logo combined to such a cap band is undesirable, either ruptures occurred to the stretched out of shape cap bands, or damages and deformations happened to the shrunk cap bands. To replete with such lower grade of cap products on the market sold at reduced price. A front side of a flexible cap band still wants for a good taste logo. While in the prior arts, logos simply added and secured to the front side of a cap band by stitching. Where a piece of cloth imprinted with logo has a distinction of prominence due to a contrast over the front side of the cap band--it's easy to perceive--but it may cause an unevenness occurred to the front side of the cap band. It's hideous or not refined to look at. Moreover, when wearing for a longer while, a wearer may feel discomfort about one's head portion.
[0005]Accordingly, how can a flexible cap band be adorned with vivid and neat logo, which is retained in good shape, should be more concerned by the wears.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION
[0029]In the figures, the same reference numbers are used for the same or similar parts, the corresponding or comparable properties and advantages being achieved, even if a repeated description is omitted.
[0030]As shown in FIG. 1, a bottom plan view of a cap is illustrated. In FIG. 2, an exploded view of a cap is illustrated. In FIG. 3, a perspective view of a cap is illustrated. In FIG. 4, a perspective view of the flexible cap band is illustrated. In FIG. 5, a cross sectional view taken along line 5-5 of FIG. 4 is illustrated.
[0031]In FIGS. 1 and 2, a crown 50 is equipped with a bill 60 extended forward, a lower peripheral edge of the crown 50 is reserved a brim 51 extended downward at a range from 3 mm to 10 mm therefrom. Further, the brim 51 is stitched together with a flexible cap band 10, which is later stitched around an inner side of a cap. After stitching, the brim 51 is turned over 180 degrees by which said flexible cap band. 10 is enclosed within inside the crown 50. It is understood that the cap band 10 is initially stitched around an outer surface of the brim 51, after stitching, as the brim 51 is turned over, the cap band 10 is shown inside the crown 50. Furthermore, the flexible cap band 10 is stitched by, at least, two transversal stitches 80 extended from two ends of seams 53 across stitches 73 to fix to the crown 50. Thereby the flexible band 10 does not split up from there to form any turnup. The stitches 73 are hidden from view inside the crown 50 to fix the brim 51 to the inner side of the crown 50. When the flexible band 10 stitched inside the crown 50 can be fitted over a range of head portions of wearers, the size of the flexible cap band 10 is adjustable according to the difference of the wearers' head portion.
[0032]Said flexible cap band 10 is composed of a water absorbent uniaxial stretchable band 20, and a logo 40 to be displayed attached to a non-woven band 30. Both lateral ends 31,32 of said non-woven band 30 and both lateral ends 21, 22 of said sweat band 20 are stitched together by stitches 71,72 respectively as illustrated in FIG. 4 to form a flexible band 10 fit together to the inner side of the crown 50, the flexible band 10 has a length B. While said inflexible woven band 30 has a length A, which is incorporated into the length B of the flexible band 10, a proportion of A to B is in the range of from one sixth to one tenth. (i.e. 1/6˜1/10) Either the proportion of A to B is larger than one sixth, the sweat band 20 will be endowed with an insufficient elasticity to adjust to a range of head portions of wearers; Or the proportion of A to B smaller than one tenth, the logo 40 occupies too small space to show prominently. Accordingly, based on the trial run of the proportions of A to B, it is assumed that a proportion of inflexible band 30 to the sweat band 20 is preferrably one seventh. In other words, the proportion of the inflexible band 30 to the flexible band 10 is preferrably one eighth (i.e. 1/8), the sweat band 20 to the flexible band 10 is preferrably seven eighth (i.e. 7/8).
[0033]As mentioned above, the inflexible band 30 combined to the sweat band 20 can be located at a left end, a right end or the rear end of the crown 50, where the inflexible band 30 is preferrably placed at the rear end inside the crown 50. The inflexible band 30 is preferrably placed at the rear end, because a contrast between the logo attached to the inflexible band 30 and the sweat band 20 is easy to perceive.
[0034]As mentioned above, the sweat band 20 is made of stretchable polyester yarns and elastic synthetic fibers. But a basic material constituent of the inflexible band 30 can be selected from one as following: cotton blended, polyester blended, polyester mixed cotton, or same as material constituent of the crown 50.
[0035]As shown in FIG. 6, a schematic view of an inflexible band is to be assembled is illustrated. In FIG. 7, an assembled view of the inflexible band is assembled is illustrated. In FIG. 8, an exploded view of the logo 40 combined to the inflexible band 30 is illustrated. In FIG. 9, a schematic view of the inflexible band 30 combined to the sweat band 20 is illustrated.
[0036]In FIG. 6, a fabric 34 is not endowed with a uniaxial stretchable capacity as the sweat band 20 is, the fabric 34 is enclosed by a piece of non-woven fabric 35. A square measure of the fabric 34 is, at least, two folds of the non-woven fabric 35. A length of the non-woven fabric 35 is identical to the fabric 34. When the non-woven fabric 35 is placed in a middle portion of the fabric 34 further flushed with both left and right sides of the fabric 34, both front and rear ends 34a, 34b of the fabric 34 can be folded inward toward the middle portion to cover up the non-woven fabric 35. After that, as shown in FIG. 7, the fabric 34 enclosed by the non-woven fabric 35 can be stitched together by stitches 79. At the time, a first surface of the inflexible band 30 is formed with a center parting, but a second surface is not formed with such a center parting. Whereby the second surface is suitable to adhere with the woven logo 40 by adhesive or stitches.
[0037]Finally, a perimeter of the logo 40 is stitched to the inflexible band 30 by stitches 78 (refer to FIG. 9), the logo 40 is preferrably placed at a center of the inflexible band 30.
[0038]As mentioned above, two lateral ends 21, 22 of the sweat band 20 are stitched to two lateral ends 31,32 of the inflexible band 30 respectively, odd bits 21a, 21b, 31a, 31b, are clinging fabric remains of the lateral ends 21,22,31,32 respectively can be turned over at 180 degrees, and then stitched together to the lateral ends 21,22,31,32 respectively by stitching. Finally, as shown in FIG. 4, a flexible cap band 10 is formed circular in shape to fit together to the inner side of the crown 50.
[0039]As shown in FIG. 10, a sectional view taken along line 10-10 of FIG. 3, in FIG. 11, a sectional view taken along line 11-11 of FIG. 3. In FIG. 10, a bottom edge of the inflexible band 30 is stitched to the brim 51 of the crown 50 by stitching. A second surface of the brim 51 is stitched to a non-woven fabric 52 by stitches 70; as a result, the inflexible band 30 is integrally combined to the brim 51 to support the logo 40 on a first surface of the brim 51 to be displayed. As shown in FIG. 11, a bottom edge of the sweat band 20 (preferrable a seven eighth of a circumference of the flexible band 10) is stitched to the brim 51 of the crown 50 by stitching, they are combined as a whole without any burst open in between.
[0040]As mentioned above, the woven logo 40 is adopted from one as following: woven label, print label, or leather patch. Furthermore, patterns of the logo 40 is adopted from one as following: embroider, printing, heat transfer.
[0041]The sweat band 20 of said flexible band 10 combined to the inflexible band 30 with a logo 40 to be displayed is not only to save the material constituents about manufacturing the sweat band 20, but also the logo to be displayed can be shown on the flexible band 10.
Benefits Attained by Realization of the Invention
[0042]In comparison with the prior arts, some merits can be achieved by embodiments of the present invention, such as a uniaxial stretchable sweat band 20 is integrated with an inflexible woven band 30 having a logo 40 to be displayed to form a flexible cap band 10. Thereby, a vivid and neat logo 40 could be kept in good shape, while the inflexible woven band 30 integrally combined with the uniaxial stretchable sweat band 20 as a whole, the flexibility of the finished cap band 10 is not affected by the logo incorporated therein.
[0043]Said inflexible woven band 30 is placed at an inner side of a rear end of the crown 50, it is to occupy a prominence place visible to the naked eyes of the customers.
[0044]The proportion of the length A of said inflexible woven band 30 to the length B of the flexible cap band 10 is preferrably one eighth (i.e. 1/8). The reason why the logo 40 on the woven band 30 is preferrably selected from a proportion near 1/8, because it is designed in accordance with golden ratio expressed as T=1+ {square root over ( )}5/2. It is assumed that the length B of the cap band 10 is likely a circumference (C). While the circumference (C) having the same length B of the cap band 10 is co-planar with seams 53 stitched across the crown 50 likely diameters (D) (please refer to FIG. 1), there has a circumference to the diameter ratio closed to π (3.14159) relationship, expressed as C/D=6T2/5 or C/D=4/ {square root over ( )}T; both are calculated closed to 3.14 approach to π value, in consideration of so-called golden ratio related to the π (3.14159) value, for showing the logo 40 on the inflexible woven band 30 to be distinctive and prominent between the seams amid the crown 50. The seams 53 stitched across the crown 50, which is divided into six equal portions, therefore, each portion of the seams divided crown is clearly a ratio of 1/6. Meanwhile, the woven band 30 at a rear end fit together to the inner side of the crown, the proportion of inflexible band 30 to the flexible band 10 is in the range from 1/6˜1/10, preferrably 1/8. As a result, not only a circumference and a diameter relationship is already shown by the brim 51 (stitched together with the flexible band 10) and the seams 53, but also a golden ratio T=1+ {square root over ( )}5/2 is clearly included by the ratio of crown divided portion (1/6) and the proportion of the inflexible band to the flexible band (1/6˜1/10, preferrably 1/8). It is can be expressed as 1/6:1/6˜1/6:1/10 to show a proportion of 11.5. As well known, the golden ratio T=1+ {square root over ( )}5/2 is included in such a range of ratio. Further, the logo 40 stitched to the inflexible band 30 is preferrably restricted to a ratio less than 1/6:1/8 (less than 1.33), and it is easy to perceive because it may approach to a golden ratio.
[0045]Non-woven fabric 35 is enclosed by a sheet like fabric 34 free from uniaxial stretchable capacity of the sweat band 20. As the fabrics 34,35 are stitched together by stitches 79 integrally as a whole. Thereby the non-woven fabric 30 composed of the fabrics 34,35, when enduring a pull force exerted from outside, not only both ends of the non-woven fabric 30 are not stretched-out, but also the whole non-woven fabric 30 is kept not out of shape. It can be employed as a platform to attach with the logo 40, which is also maintained in good shape.
[0046]A perimeter of said woven logo 40 is stitched together with the non-woven band 30 by stitches 78; thereby the logo 40 is secured to the non-woven band 30 without any movements.
[0047]Said woven logo 40 can be selected from one as following: woven label, print label, and leather patch; therefore, the logo 40 is not restricted to only one pattern.
[0048]Said woven logo 40 can be selected from one as following: embroider, printing, heat transfer; therefore, the logo 40 is not limited to only one pattern.
[0049]Said woven logo 40 is made of cotton blend, polyester yarn blend, polyester mixed cotton, because they are not flexible and stretchable fibers, a preferrable inflexible band can be formed.
[0050]Said sweat band 20 is made of stretchable polyester yarns and flexible synthetic fibers, a preferrable uniaxial stretchable effect is achieved, with fluffs on the surface to increase a feeling of dermal sensation of the wearer. Further, the fluffs can absorb sweat perspiration from the wearer.
[0051]The brim 51 of said crown 50 is combined to the non-woven band 30 by stitching; after a piece of non-woven cloth 52 is stitched together to the inner side of the crown 50 by stitches 70, the bottom peripheral edge of the crown 50 combined to the non-woven band 30 more stable.
