Drug Abuse - Three classes of prescription drugs

Among the drugs that may be prescribed for you are some that have a tremendous potential for abuse. They include stimulants , such as amphetamines; depressants , such as sleeping pills; and narcotic painkillers, including morphine and codeine. When abused (that is, when taken in any way other than according to a physician's strict instructions) these drugs constitute a substantial part of America's burgeoning national drug problem.
