IV. BLOOD MODIFIERS



ACTION: Enhance or inhibit the process of clotting or thinning of the blood.

USE: Follow your doctor's directions for use of these medications. DO NOT TAKE ASPIRIN OR ASPIRIN PRODUCTS WHILE TAKING THESE MEDICATIONS WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF YOUR DOCTOR. Always consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking one of these medications with another type of drug. Your doctor may require frequent testing of blood while these medications are in use.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS AND PRECAUTIONS: Contact your doctor if you experience any signs or symptoms of bleeding. Bleeding may include unusual bruising, pain, swelling, nosebleeds, bleeding from the gums, unexplained vaginal bleeding; discoloration of urine or stool; black tarry stools; or any signs of illness. If you experience any other effects not listed above, contact your doctor. DO NOT STOP TAKING THESE MEDICATIONS WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF YOUR DOCTOR. Before having emergency treatment or surgery, tell health care workers you are using this type of medication.
