We'll probably continue to do so, as long as it's so easy to cancel a message,
and how UCE makes up the majority of bandwidth on Usenet these days.
:) I do not support moderation unconditionally, but I believe it is just a
:) matter of time for all unmoderated newsgroup to fall and becomes totally
:) unreadable by spams and crosspostings. Maybe it is time for us to
consider
:) having all newsgroups moderated -- at least to enforce the netiquette.
Unfortunately, that would invite the net.police in. Expect massive
retaliation, especially when once-unmoderated groups suddenly become
moderated, and the moderator is put in a very bad position...
