Here's the reply I received from support@spamhippo.com.
This should be sufficient info to send to any local news
admins who are blaming Spam Hippo for missing articles. If
Spam Hippo is removing any news.answers postings, it is
their local configuration of Spam Hippo that is blocking
the articles. They have the choice and should not pass the
buck.

Subject: Re: is the hippo removing legitimate news.answers FAQs?

I had received one other e-mail in regards to this issue. In that case, as
presented, the posts would not be subject to removal on our sservices. As
there is a finite basis for spam detection, there is no general answer, but
I would be glad to review specific problems relating to our service,
supported by approximate dates of posts, frequency of same messaage posting
and number of cross posts.

Spam hippo has many parameters that may be selected by the individual news
service. This feature was written into the program to enable each to follow
the policy they have established. So if you are having a problem with a
specific service running spam hippo, you may want to bring the issue to
their attention as they have local control of the process.
