I think that something special needs to be done about posting of FAQs AND
spam.

Perhaps, as was just recommended, something special could be done on
a stand alone server to set up a unique posting server for FAQs. That
server would take care of ensuring that only approved FAQs go out from
it, AND, would take care of cancelling any spam that gets forged to look
as if it came from it. In that way, all vigilante groups cancelling
postings can be warned that only msgs originating from this
server will be tolerated, that no cancels or spam forged will be tolerated,
etc.
