I hope this is not a FAQ, but :-)
I need/want to include some people's e-mail addresses in the FAQ, (both in
the acknowledgement section, and elsewhere) but I am reluctant to use
<userid@foo.bar> kind of construct. Granted it is not a full mailto: tag,
it nevertheless is prone to be "harvested" by spam-bots. I definitely hate
UCE, so I don't want to be a party to promoting it.
How do you do it? Will a spam-bot be smart enough to substract spaces, for
instance, as in:
<userid @ foo.bar>
or should I resort to using:
<userid(at)foo.bar>
On a related matter, do you think it is inadvisable to use mailto: tags in
the Webbified versions? Does anybody have an idea about the effectiveness
of html harvesters' parsing of e-mail addresses from web pages?
thanx.
